The last stretch of a long flight can feel like torture; you've watched all the good movies, you've eaten your meal and multiple snacks, read a book (or two), and then you're just itching to stretch your legs and plant your feet on solid ground again. Unfortunately, the experience is often the same before you even got onto the airplane. That was certainly the case for a group of dancers, the Funkywunks, who were stuck for hours in at the airport in Dallas, Texas back in 2018. But instead of letting the wait bring them down, the Funkywunks did what they do best — dance!

What's even worse than a long flight? An extremely long flight delay. Millions of people every year find themselves stranded in airports either halfway across the country or on an entirely different continent without any way to get home.

When passengers in Dallas, Texas, had their flight delayed for over six hours, a dance crew who also happened to be stranded in the terminal decided to put on an impromptu performance and brighten the mood.
The Funkywunks' flight had been delayed for six hours, according to their Facebook post at the time, and so they understood the frustration overtaking most of the displaced passengers wandering about the terminal. The hip-hop dance group from Orlando has members ranging from ages 17 to 28, according to Orlando Sentinel.
They're gradually making a name for themselves across the industry; in 2015, they were crowned U.S. All-Star Federation champions. And in 2018, they starred on World Of Dance.
As the delay continued to drag on, passengers grew more irritated and tired. It certainly would have been easier for the dancers to try and distract themselves or sleep until their plane arrived, but they decided to choose to be positive and shake off their airport woes by putting on an invigorating performance that took everyone's mind off the delayed flight.
First, the Funkywunks had to pick the right music.
After putting on an extended version of Bruno Mars's Uptown Funk, they broke into a lightning-fast choreography routine that instantly dispelled all the negative energy floating around the terminal.
People began to look up from their phones and surround the group as they put on their captivating performance.
The routine was flawless from start to finish, and the upbeat music gave everyone a much-needed break from the stress of their delay.
The Funkywunks took to social media to share their performance with a tweet. They wrote that they were happy to be doing what they love most: dancing and making people smile.
Even if you hadn't slept for a day, catching a performance from a professional dance crew in the middle of a stale airport terminal would definitely lift your spirits. Have you ever experienced an uplifting act of kindness somewhere where you least expected it? Let us know, and pass this story on.
