Dancers In Home Store Perform Entertaining ABBA-Themed Flash Mob

Ikea is one of the most well-known and well-loved home stores. It makes appearances in movies, and it is home to some of the coolest DIY furniture out there. If you have ever been in an Ikea, you know that the store itself is like a labyrinth. It is such a maze that there are actual maps and signs among the sections to help people out if they get lost (intentionally or otherwise).

You never know what you're going to encounter in an Ikea. So it isn't the most shocking bit of news to hear that one Ikea found itself the stage for a sidesplitting flash mob that was none other than Abba-themed.

What is a flash mob, you ask? It is when a group of people come together to perform a dance in public. This dance is usually choreographed and takes place in unexpected environments. In this case, its stage was an Ikea! No one likes waiting in line at a store, even if your shopping experience was a pleasant one, so you can imagine what a happy surprise it was to witness a flash mob break out by the check out lines in one Ikea.

Flash mobs start out slow and gain momentum. People sing, and they also dance. And no matter what, people start to smile. One such flash mob broke out in Madrid's Ikea, reports Marketers. The flash mob in Ikea started off with what seemed like a regular day. But the camera was rolling and ready to go. Employees can be seen performing their regular duties. Shoppers are going back and forth as you would expect in a store.

But there is something off about the scene, something uncanny. Then, the unusual beeping sounds began. People begin to look around to find the source but have no luck. Finally, the music starts."Mama Mia," the hit ABBA song, begins to play over the speakers.

Several shoppers look confused but even more look genuinely interested. Within moments, the flash mob begins. Employees are dancing in sync. There is a cashier who is moving perfectly in rhythm with a custodial staff member. There is a police officer who is dancing in tune with that very custodial staff member. She even utilizes her cleaning supplies in the routine!

The surprised looks on the customers' faces quickly transform. They are thrilled and humored by what they are seeing. Everyone looks genuinely thrilled and truly entertained by the performance. More dancers jump into the mob, and within moments, people who were previously just bystanders have joined in on the fun!

Out of all the bystanders and performers, no one seemed to enjoy it more than the younger crowd. These little kids who were previously just waiting to go home are now grinning ear to ear. They are even joining in the dancing and fun. It will undoubtedly be something they remember for the rest of their lives.

The clapping and singing are positively infectious and a reminder of the power of music and the joy of community. Everyone has gone from mundane to magnificent. This Ikea is all smiles and laughter, and it is astounding how the transformation came from a four-minute bop and a little bit of planning.

There is no doubt about it that ABBA made some catchy music. The 1975 jam, "Mamma Mia," made and continues to make headlines for a reason. But who would have thought that a flash mob set to the tune of that song would have such a special, happy impact on a group of strangers? It is no surprise that the clip has brought in over 8 million views.
