Beloved Nascar driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. is operating with a heavy heart after the death of his mother. Earnhardt's mother, Brenda Jackson, left her physical body at the age of 65. She died on April 22, 2019, a day after Easter.
Dale, who was voted Nascar's most popular driver for fourteen consecutive years, lost his Nascar racer father to a crash that happened during a race 18 years ago.
Jackson married Dale's father in 1972. Not long after, she welcomed Dale, and his sister Kelley, to the family. Jackson is the daughter of Robert Gee, a renowned stock car builder whose work was heavily desired in the 60s and 70s by a number of drivers.

Jackson remarried in the late 80s and moved back to North Carolina. There she would be near to her families.
One of Jackson's grandchildren, Karsyn Elledge, aspires to follow in her uncle and grandfather's footsteps as a racer. Jackson's newest grandchild, Isla, was born in May 2018 to Dale and his wife Amy.
Jackson and her daughter Kelley were important members of the racing team that supported the efforts of Dale. Jackson has been viewed on videos posted online by her children and has been a guest on each of the podcasts they run.
JR motorsports alerted the world to Jackson's passing on Tuesday. The team released a statement explaining the pleasure they experienced working with Jackson and how much they will miss her presence.
The statement also explained the death of Brenda Jackson was the result of a long bout with cancer.
The Earnhardt family asks that contributions be directed to Piedmont Animal Rescue or Iredell Hospice and Palliative Care in Brenda Jackson's honor.
