Natural disasters are so random, we never know when one is coming our way. Even though hurricanes and droughts might be privy to certain areas and regions of the world, flash floods, tornados, and even landslides are pretty random.
When a natural disaster strikes, there are specific procedures rescue officials follow in order to ensure the safety of all parties involved--including those doing the rescuing.
These officials spend many hours practicing these procedures so that when a natural disaster does hit, they're prepared. So even though it's silly to want to be trapped by a natural disaster, sometimes it's inevitable.
It's important that during a rescue mission that trained professionals are always prepared. Depending on the situation, they may rescue people by boat, helicopter, or by foot. They usually meet up with people who are in desperate situations and need to be rescued. In a recent video that's since gone viral, we can see rescue officials flying in with a helicopter to save a couple trapped on their roof from a flash flood.
The natural disaster took place in Joso, Japan. The flash flood swelled through the streets, destroying public and private property, and was dangerous to swim through. It even reached heights as high as a rooftop.

However, this couple was different than the average desperate citizen. People everywhere were flying out by helicopter, being transferred to boats, and rescue officials were properly following all procedures.
What these officials encountered was a couple who also was in possession of a dog and puppy--two creatures they simply wouldn't let be left behind. No matter how much the rescue officials pleaded with them, they wouldn't surrender their animals to the flood.
Nothing would separate this couple from their furry friends--they considered them family, after all.
Some people might be thinking to themselves "well it's just a dog, I would have easily left it behind if it ensured my survival." However, you must realize that some people really do see their pets as family. Dogs have always been considered man's best friend, too. Especially in a survival situation, these feelings become amplified. You got stuck in a mess with your pet, why not stick it out with them?
Besides, there are countless stories around the internet of animals who have stepped into harm's way to save humans. Isn't it only justice that humans do the same things for their furry companions? The couple would not sacrifice their pets to the flood. They were willing to do just about anything to save their animals, even if it meant passing up a helicopter headed towards safety. Luckily, the rescue team was courageous that day and understood the couple's plea.
They wanted to make sure they saved these people, even if that meant taking on an extra burden of two more lives--the lives of their pets. The rescue team buckled up, accepted, and was able to bring everyone back to safety.
Wow! What an amazing story! We are so happy that the family and their dogs are safe! Pass this heartwarming story on to your family and friends!
