Sometimes a song or dance becomes so popular that it takes the world by storm and becomes an instant sensation. That's what happened when Atlanta rapper V.I.C. released his song Wobble.

In this video uploaded to Patrizia Marzola's YouTube channel in 2017, a group of country line dancers comes together to dance to V.I.C.'s hit Wobble, successfully merging country and hip-hop genres — something we don't see too often!

Originally released in 2008, Wobble was the second single from rapper V.I.C.'s debut album Beast. Produced by Mr. Collipark, the song was actually released in another form as Wobble (Skit), which served to introduce the song that would become Wobble, although both versions appear on V.I.C.'s album. Alongside V.I.C.'s vocal, local Atlantan former radio personality Frank Ski also appears on the song, but isn't credited as a featured artist.

What's interesting about the success of Wobble is that it came about years after its initial release. After inspiring a dance, the track grew in popularity and went on to make it to the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart much later on June 2, 2011, entering at number 89. It peaked at number 77, and later on January 7, 2012, debuted on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart at number 94.

The wobble dance — the craze that brought the song to popularity — consists of a series of moves in which the dancer steps from side to side and back and forth, all the while moving their upper body in a smooth, flowing way and using their hands too. It's certainly more complicated to explain than when you see someone skilled show how it's done.

This is all to say that the seemingly simple moves of the wobble dance lend themselves to line dancing — who would have thought that country and hip-hop genres could crossover so much!

This is what the video from 2017, whose origin we can't trace but found and loved, demonstrates perfectly. That it doesn't matter what kind of music or dancing you're usually into, if there is a way to merge them, it's possible to successfully do it.

In the video, a group of at least 15 people is seen line dancing in a bar, donning their full country looks including cowboy hats, boots, and western shirts. They're doing a version of the wobble dance to the song Wobble that is infused with their line dancing country spirit. Not only are the people dancing having the time of their lives, but the clip is simply enjoyable to watch—it's hard not to enjoy oneself while watching others express pure joy. This video proves that sometimes mixing different genres, even hip-hop and country, can make for a really fun and unique mash-up, so keep an open mind and see where your interests take you.
