It can be a challenge for anyone to remain calm when you see the red and blue lights of a police car flashing behind you. However, when you have a serious health condition that causes severe anxiety, the situation can seem almost unbearable.

When Adrianne Hudson was pulled over for a routine traffic stop, the stress was almost too much to bear for her young son who was sitting in the back seat.

Adrianne’s son, Jacob, has a condition known as pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorder. In addition to causing many other symptoms, it is the root of extreme anxiety. Despite the fact that Adrianne remained calm and composed while she was pulling her car over and while the officer was approaching her door, Jacob was panicking.

He told her that he wanted to bolt out of the car and run away. When the police officer approached the car, Jacob went so far as to tell the cop to hurry up and write her a ticket so that they could leave.

The Cop Takes Action

While Jacob’s response may have seemed rude to some people, the law enforcement official took one look at the boy and instantly noticed how upset he was. He calmly told Jacob that the boy had no reason to be afraid, and he even asked if he liked police cars. When Jacob told him yes, the police officer invited him to take a look inside the car and to take pictures of him sitting inside.

Adrianne offered extreme praise for the police officer’s actions. Even though the police officer was not aware that the boy had a serious health condition, he showed kindness and compassion by trying to calm down the frightened boy.
