Teachers can be truly amazing. Almost everyone has that one teacher that they loved when they were in school. We often think about how they touched our lives, even in very simple ways.
A student who goes to Georgia Gwinnett College won’t soon forget what a wonderful teacher she had after a story concerning her went viral.
A student called the home of Ramata Sissoko Cissé, an assistant biology professor, late one night to let her know that her babysitter was sick. She said that she would have to bring the baby to the anatomy and physiology class if she was going to take notes during the lecture. Cissé told her to go ahead and bring the child with her. She told CNN that she felt a moral responsibility to help her students.
However, the baby kept fidgeting while the student was trying to take notes, making it very difficult for her. Cissé decided to take matters into her own hands- literally. She told the mother to hand her the child. But then Cissé wasn’t able to write on the board, so she decided to improvise as best as she could.

The amazing teacher grabbed a while lab coat and fashioned a makeshift baby sling out of it. She tied the child to her back and continued to teach. The baby then fell quickly asleep and remained perfectly quiet throughout the rest of the class.
Cissé was even able to use the baby as a lesson while she taught. She elaborated on issues such as metabolism, brain function, and the nervous system. For example, Cissé explained to the class that the baby slept so quietly because of body temperature. She also mentioned that warming up a bottle for a baby will help their metabolism.
The student asked to not be identified in the story. Cissé went on to say that the student did email her to tell her “thank you” after class. Cissé reminded her that she would be there for her whenever she needed her, to which the student replied, “I know.” Cissé said that those two simple words meant more to her than anything. She stated that she incorporates love and compassion into her teaching methods.
