Clint Eastwood is one of the most recognized and acclaimed actors and directors of all time. He is known as being America's beloved cowboy, having featured in iconic films that solidified the impact of the Spaghetti Western genre in America and across the world. He started on his road to fame in the 1950s and from that moment, the rest, as they say, is history.
His career, which has spanned over 65 years, has seen him achieve success in a number of roles including as an actor, film director, producer and even a musical composer. Some of his most memorable movies include the Dollars trilogy, "Dirty Harry," "Million Dollar Baby," "Mystic River," "Gran Torino" and more. Having been at the top of his game for decades, Clint has a long legacy behind him, which only seems to increase the older he gets, as he simply keeps on working.
Now aged 91, the Hollywood veteran is taking his time to focus on jobs he really enjoys. He also has a whopping eight children, all of whom are grown up now. In fact, a few of his kids have even followed him into show business, with perhaps the most famous being his lookalike actor son Scott Eastwood.
Back in 2021, a source close to Clint spoke to Closer Weekly and revealed what he's been up to, including the fact that despite being a nonagenarian, he's in perhaps the best shape of his life. As Clint nears his 92nd birthday, let’s take a look at what his life in his 90s has been like so far.
Despite his legendary status these days, Clint's roots are rather humble. Born in San Francisco, California on May 31, 1930, Clint's youth was spent causing mischief, while it's unclear whether he ever graduated from high school.
After a brief stint in the army during the Korean War, Clint made his way to Hollywood. After impressing executives with his tall stance and intimidating demeanor, he, unfortunately, failed to impress them with his acting skills but was arranged to enroll in acting classes after signing a contract with Universal Pictures.
Clint struggled to make it big for a while, picking up a few small roles here and there, but finally, he landed a breakthrough role in the 1958 Western series "Rawhide." The series aired for five years before being canceled. This led to his now signature role as the tough guy with a heart of gold in a long list of Westerns, including in Sergio Leone's Dollars trilogy. His character as "the Man with No Name" was one of the most popular and influential roles throughout his career.
Ever since then, Clint has never slowed down, choosing to appear both in front of and behind the camera. From the "Dirty Harry" movies of the 1970s and '80s to his success as a director — which includes winning two Academy Awards for Best Director, in 1993 for "Unforgiven" and in 2005 for "Million Dollar Baby" — Clint has proven time and again why he is simply one of the best Hollywood has ever had. Even now in his 90s, he's still going strong.

Having turned 91 on May 31, 2021, a source told Closer Weekly that Clint celebrated quietly at home with his partner Christina Sandera. Some of his children, including Scott, Kathryn Eastwood and Alison Eastwood all stopped by his Carmel-by-the-Sea home. The source added, "He got a lot of text messages and calls from friends and family and his other kids.”
But despite being in his 90s now, Clint is still in tip-top shape, as he spends time outdoors, however, he avoids doing anything "too strenuous." The source added:
"Clint still golfs …. he likes to take long walks."
On top of his physical fitness, the Hollywood legend also "loves food, but he never overeats," instead opting to stay on top of his diet. In fact, Clint appears to be in the best shape of his life, at least mentally, as the source revealed:
"Clint’s brain is on point … he joked that it’s his body that lags behind."
Explaining that he does not plan to retire but instead will just slow down on the number of projects he's working on, the source revealed that he's "got a couple of projects in the works. Not dozens like he used to have, but he’s directed and starred in 'Cry Macho,' which he’s very proud of." It seems Clint is "very comfortable with his daily routine" and it's the simple things in life that bring him the most joy at this point. The source added:

Part of staying healthy as you get older is caring for your mental and emotional health as well. Having a positive perspective on getting older can make a big difference in your daily life and long-term health. Clint shared some advice that he learned from a friend:
"I have a friend that is in his 90s, and I said to him, 'You look real good — what's the deal?' He says, 'Never let the old man in.' And he never did."
Clint also opened up about his diet plan. He said:
"I've never carried much body fat, but I've always been pretty good about watching my diet. Stay away from carbohydrates, especially rich desserts. Keep a scale in your bathroom. Get proper rest. Try to be optimistic. Eat fruits and raw vegetables. Take vitamins. Skip beverages loaded with sugars. Avoid alcohol in excess."
Clint has gotten into the routine of living a balanced lifestyle. The actor's physician, Dr. Harry Demopoulos, praised Clint for the healthy choices he makes every day. The doctor said:
"He never eats fat, he takes his antioxidants faithfully, works out like a demon, and gets plenty of sleep, which is an area that is often neglected in a fitness program."
Even Clint's son, Scott, commented on how dedicated his father is to staying healthy. Scott said, "My dad is a machine about food and exercise.”
As he ages, it’s clear that Clint is keeping health a priority. Although he has no upcoming projects in the works that we know of, we’re excited to see what this brilliant actor and director has in store for his future.
