Christina Ricci is a former child actress and producer who stepped into the limelight in 1991 with her portrayal of Wednesday Addams in "The Addams Family." The actress-cum-producer also played her role in its 1993 sequel, "Addams Family Values." Ricci got scouted during a school play, "The Twelve Days of Christmas," which she shrewdly secured. The 43-year-old gained ground as a teen actress with roles in "Casper" and "Now and Then." She transitioned to adult movies at 17 with roles in several prime TV shows, including "Ally McBeal" and "Yellowjackets," earning her an Emmy nomination as Best Outstanding Supporting Actress.
Ricci is no stranger to the spotlight, seeing as she started her career when she was just 8. Her role as the precocious Wednesday Addams in the box office hit exposed her to the media early, and she also got her first lead role when she was 17. Following her early success in her career, the talented entertainer stayed in the spotlight for many reasons, including her relationships, marriages and divorce from her first husband, James Heerdegen.
The pair were married for close to seven years, but their marriage ended in bitter animosity leading Ricci to file for a restraining order before filing for divorce. Meanwhile, their marriage produced a son.
Ricci and her son, Freddie Heerdegen, made headlines when the duo stepped out on a date on June 25, 2023, in New York City. The mom of two fed her son caviar and got him toys and candy after a legal battle to stop her ex-husband, who wanted to prevent her from taking him on the trip. Ricci was involved in a few relationships before getting married, including her engagement to Owen Benjamin in 2009, but the twosome called it off two months later. The "Casper" star and her ex-husband, producer James tied the knot in October 2013 after they announced their engagement earlier in February. The couple met on the set of "Pan Am" and welcomed their son in August 2014. Ricci filed for divorce in July 2020, citing "severe emotional and physical abuse" by her husband, who she claimed hit her in their child's presence.
Ricci got an emergency protective order at the time and a Domestic Abuse Restraining Order in January 2021 against her ex. She also got full custody of Freddie, while James got visitation rights. The "Mermaids'' actress made a second attempt at marriage in August 2021 when she tied the knot with her boyfriend, Mark Hampton.
Ricci first met Hampton in 2017 when he styled her hair when she was going to appear on the cover of Net-a-Porter's The Edit. The pair announced in August 2021 that they were expecting their first child together. They then wed two months after their announcement in October of that year. Ricci's second child and daughter, Cleopatra, was born in December 2021.
The "Penelope" actress also described her relationship with the hair stylist as her first healthy relationship. She revealed that she had no idea what it meant for trust to exist in a relationship before meeting Hampton. Consequently, she had no affection for and did not miss her previous romances, which she said she admittedly got into because of deleterious expectations.

Although Ricci has moved on with Hampton, her troubles with her ex-husband, James, continue. The "Monstrous" star got to treat her son, Freddie, to caviar, toys and candy in New York City on June 25, 2023. However, the mother-son duo only got to spend time together after a legal battle with James.
“The Matrix" actress accused James of being "vindictive and retaliatory" in court documents filed after an emergency hearing following his refusal to let Freddie go on a trip with her. In court documents obtained by Page Six, Ricci claimed:
"Jimmy seems to be more focused on harassing and punishing me than on Freddie’s best interests."
Ricci also claimed that James initially agreed to her and Freddie going on the trip. The actress added that her ex-husband's behavior made her lose the money paid to attorneys and could also affect her career and professional reputation. Nevertheless, she eventually got to take her 8-year-old son with her.
Ricci shared the records of her and Freddie's outing on her Instagram story on June 25, 2023. Their fun outing included a quick stop at the FAO Schwarz store, where they got some toys. Freddie also got a $25 box of Marvin’s Magic Snow which Ricci, in her Insta Story, said was him bringing "some snow back to Cali." Freddie also posed with a giant gummy worm in a $30 box and got to play with a giant floor piano at the store.
The mother-son duo went for dinner afterward at Craft restaurant. There, Freddie ate a $195 Osetra caviar dish with potato rosti, crème fraîche and a watermelon mocktail. Ricci and Freddie's trip followed an earlier excursion to the Statue of Liberty, also documented on her Instagram. The pair surely know how to have fun together.
