Chrissy Teigen has recently faced major backlash for the last few months due to allegations of bullying from various people. Recently, tweets by the model from 2011 onwards have been unearthed and showed a new side to the once-spunky and vivacious Teigen, who was called the "unofficial queen" of Twitter previously for her clever and spicy remarks. Following the unearthed tweets, Teigen faced immense backlash, going so far as to lose all her promotions and being dropped as a representative of a few companies.
Teigen has made a name for herself as a model, but she has become more known for her "brand" as a doting mother and cooking enthusiast over the years. A large part of Teigen's reputation came from her social media usage, which also spelled her downfall at this moment. While most of us can look back at our content from a decade ago and wince at the juvenile way we used social media, Teigen had unfortunately used her account in the past to write demeaning and hurtful things that have been severely reprimanded today.
Teigen addressed her current membership in the "cancel club" that many people are put into nowadays, and reflected on the thoughts and struggles she has been through in the last few weeks. In the lengthy statement that was posted on July 14, 2021, Teigen spoke about her mental health status currently and elaborated on how difficult it has been to manage herself through the circumstances. In the statement, she also reaches out to the fans that have stood by her through this all.
In the photo uploaded onto Instagram, Teigen wrote, "Iiiii don’t really know what to say here...just feels so weird to pretend nothing happened in this online world but feel like utter shit in real life. Going outside sucks and doesn’t feel right, being at home alone with my mind makes my depressed head race."
She continued, "But I do know that however I’m handling this now isn’t the right answer. I feel lost and need to find my place again,I need to snap out of this, I desperately wanna communicate with you guys instead of pretending everything is okay. I’m not used to any other way!! "
It has indeed been a difficult time for Chrissy, and she opens up about being part of the "cancel club," which relates to "cancel culture" that calls out people who have done politically incorrect or unethical things in the past that they are being held accountable for today.
About cancel culture, Chrissy said, "Cancel club is a fascinating thing and I have learned a whollllle lot. Only a few understand it and it’s impossible to know til you’re in it. And it’s hard to talk about it in that sense because obviously you sound whiney when you’ve clearly done something wrong. It just sucks. There is no winning. But there never is here anyhow."
Most people who have been "cancelled" can most likely understand the feelings that Teigen is going through, and it is clear that Teigen wanted to use her reach on social media to make a plea to her fans while also honestly explaining her situation.

Teigen continued, "All I know is I love you guys, I miss you guys, and I just needed an honest moment with you because I’m just...tired of being sick with myself all day. I don’t even know if it’s good to say any of this because it’s gonna get brutally picked apart but I dunno."
Teigen concluded her post by asking for support in some way, "I can’t do this silent [expletive] anymore! If you or someone you know has also been cancelled please let me know if there is a cancel club reunion because I could use some time off my couch! Thank u and goodbye I love u"
PEOPLE reported that Teigen has been called out for the controversial tweets where she had targeted Courtney Stodden, Lindsay Lohan, Farrah Abraham and Michael Costello. However, Costello's accusations were successfully countered by Teigen.
Teigen's infamy began when Stodden penned an essay claiming that they had been bullied by Teigen, to which Teigen penned a public apology and took responsibility for her actions. However, as more tweets resurfaced and put the model in a bad light, Teigen's past actions were criticized and berated by her fans as well as others.
Teigen then took to the publishing site Medium to pen her thoughts, where she wrote, "there is simply no excuse for my past horrible tweets. My targets didn't deserve them. No one does." She continued, "Many of them needed empathy, kindness, understanding and support, not my meanness masquerading as a kind of casual, edgy humor. I was a troll, full stop. And I am so sorry."
