Jaclyn Smith quickly rose to fame and became a household name in the 1970s. Smith portrayed Kelly Garrett on the television series “Charlie’s Angels.” The series followed the crime-fighting adventures of three female detectives who were part of a private detective agency owned by a wealthy businessman named Charlie.
The iconic series propelled Smith into a long-lasting career in Hollywood. Shortly after the show ended, Smith was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Miniseries or TV Film for the lead role of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy in the television film “Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy.”
The actress went on to star in several miniseries and television films, including “Rage of Angels” (1983), “George Washington” (1984), “The Bourne Identity” (1988), and “Kaleidoscope” (1990). In 1989, the small screen icon received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
On the other hand, Kate Jackson is an American actress and TV producer who is best known for playing the role of Sabrina Duncan on the same television series that Smith appeared in from 1976 to 1979.
She was also known for portraying the character Amanda King in the series “Scarecrow and Mrs. King” from 1983 to 1987. Jackson has been nominated for three Emmy Awards and four Golden Globes.
Jackson’s first major television role was in the series “Dark Shadows” from 1970 to 1971. She has also appeared in several films, including “Night of Dark Shadows,” “Making Love,” and “Loverboy.”
Aside from being professional actors on screen for their roles in “Charlie’s Angels,” the pair also had a lifelong friendship with each other, as well as their co-stars, whom Jackson once described as having “extremely special” relationships with which would carry on even long after the show was over.

In August 2023, fans were surprised as Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson had a sweet reunion when the latter attended the wedding of her co-star’s son.
In a compilation video shared on Smith’s official Instagram account, the special occasion for her son Gaston’s nuptials appeared to have several guests gathered together for a garden wedding party.
In one of the clips, which had a piece of background music featuring Natali Cole’s “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love),” Smith donned a mint green gown with ostrich feather detailing while she posed beside her good pal Jackson, who opted for much simpler wedding attire.
“There is nothing like family, and ours grew this weekend! I’m so endlessly proud of my son Gaston and am wishing him and Bonnie a lifetime of happiness,” the actress wrote in the caption.
After the video circulated online, fans took to the comment section to express their excitement over the sweet reunion of the two gal pals.
“Beautiful!! My heart stood still for Jaclyn next to Kate ❤️ my idols!!” one wrote.
Although it was clear that Jackson was one of the attendees, one commenter seemed to be confused as they wrote, “It was a beautiful wedding you looked amazing and I am 100% positive I spotted Kate Jackson and if I did she looks great. Did I spot Kate like I thought?”
Smith later confirmed that it was indeed her good friend, and she had a wonderful time seeing her at the event.
Another commenter noted that they got excited when they saw Jackson as they wrote, “Love the video!!! Everything was absolutely beautiful!!! You looked stunning as always!!! I just got so excited when i saw Kate.”

Even though the two looked happy together, the “Charlie’s Angels” reunion couldn’t be fully complete without their other co-star Farrah Fawcett, who played the role of Jill Munroe. Unfortunately, the actress passed away on June 25, 2009, in Los Angeles, California. She was 62 years old at the time.
According to an article published by Entertainment Weekly in 2009, Fawcett died after battling anal cancer for a long time. Prior to her death, she spent most of her life in the field of television and film, as she had a career that spanned over 30 years.
“Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world,” her longtime partner, Ryan O’Neal, said in a statement.
During the 10th anniversary of Fawcett’s death in 2019, Smith spoke with People Magazine to remember one of her good friends not just in the entertainment industry but also in life.
She remembered the time when her good friend revealed that she had cancer. Based on her recollection, Fawcett told her that she always thought she might get breast cancer or heart disease, but she never expected to have anal cancer.
Smith then noted that the actress started crying at the time, but she never saw her cry again after her revelation.
Regarding Smith’s friendship with both Fawcett and Jackson, especially when they were working on the TV series, the star noted that all of them had each other’s backs.
“We were not just actresses working, but girlfriends and it remained that way for 40 years,” she said.
