‘Charlie’s Angels’ Drew Barrymore & Cameron Diaz Celebrated For Aging Naturally After Posting Photograph With No Filters

It’s hard to believe that it’s been more than two decades since “Charlie’s Angels” was released. Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz, who played two of the three iconic characters in the film alongside Lucy Liu, are still incredibly close friends to this day – so much so that they even consider themselves best friends. 

The pair, who were originally in their twenties while filming “Charlie’s Angels,” are now in their forties and have accomplished quite a bit in their respective careers. Barrymore has since gone on to star in a handful of other successful films, such as “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind,” and also starred in the Netflix series “Santa Clarita Diet.” She has also won several awards and is known for her work not only as an actress but also as a director and producer. Barrymore currently hosts her own syndicated talk show called “The Drew Barrymore Show.”

Diaz has also had a very successful acting career, starring in “The Box,” “Bad Teacher” and the “Shrek” franchise. Similar to Barrymore, Diaz has received several accolades for her work as an actress. However, she has since taken a backseat in the acting department and is instead focusing on other career ventures.

In September 2021, Barrymore, 46, uploaded an unfiltered photo to her Instagram of herself and Diaz, 49, showing just how beautiful the two women are aging – and how they are doing it naturally. The photo has since received plenty of praise from people applauding their natural approach to aging and celebrating just how gorgeous the women are inside and out.

Barrymore and Diaz have been famous for several decades, and have shared a sweet friendship for many of those years. They starred alongside each other as Angels in “Charlie’s Angels” back in 2000, which also featured Liu as another Angel. It was the first film in the “Charlie’s Angels” film series, based on the television series of the same name that featured Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Jacyln Smith, with Cheryl Ladd and Shelley Hack later joining the series as replacements for Fawcett and Jackson.

The movie was a box office hit and ultimately helped lead to the success of the three stars and their careers. However, being in the spotlight can come with a price as people typically comment on celebrities’ appearances, especially as they continue to age. While many celebrities have been known to get some type of plastic surgery or cosmetic procedure to help with this aging process, people have commended Barrymore and Diaz for appearing to age in a natural way.

On Sept. 15, 2021, Barrymore uploaded an absolutely breathtaking and unfiltered photograph of herself and Diaz on Instagram. In the caption, Barrymore wrote, “Bestie hour with my bestie poo poo!!” Another photograph of the pair in their iconic Angel pose was uploaded to “The Drew Barrymore Show” Instagram page.

Barrymore is currently 46 years old while Diaz is 49 years old. According to Yahoo, many people left positive comments on the Instagram photo, praising the women for their natural beauty, specifically for how “gracefully” the friends have continued to age.

One person commented, “So refreshing to see two women being so real. You look beautiful, ladies!” Another person added, “I love that you are both so natural with no botox and filters!!! Aging naturally is amazing.” A third person said, “I love this, beauty without filters, and enhancers. This is what social media needs more of.” 

Although many people appreciated how the two women seemed to embrace the aging process, Yahoo reported that Diaz’s beauty has not always been entirely natural. She previously opened up about regrets about experimenting with Botox in the past, but is now embracing a more natural look moving forward. 

In 2014, Diaz told Entertainment Tonight:

“I’ve tried (Botox) before, where it was like (a) little tiny touch of something. It changed my face in such a weird way that I was like, ‘No, I don’t want to (be) like (that).’ I’d rather see my face aging than a face that doesn’t belong to me at all.”

According to Yahoo, Diaz has since refrained from getting any work done. Similarly, Barrymore has embraced her own beauty and is enjoying aging in a more natural way. Speaking with Glamour UK, Barrymore talked about how starting her cosmetics line Flower Beauty has helped her learn how to cover any imperfections or insecurities with makeup rather than a cosmetic procedure.

Barrymore said:

“Not messing with my face or chasing some unnatural beauty is a standard I live by. I feel more human and more vulnerable every year of my life, but I also know how to appreciate every year more and more, too.
