Celebrate Aerosmith Lead Singer Steven Tyler's 72nd Birthday Today With A Look Back At His Life

Today, March 26th, Steven Tyler takes his 72nd turn around the sun and we want to celebrate with a look back at his storied life.
Even at the age of 72, Tyler shows no signs of slowing down. While large group gatherings are on hold at the moment, he was recently leading Aerosmith in their Las Vegas residency of "Deuces Are Wild." Just a few months ago his band also lead a performance at the GRAMMY awards along with his band and Run-DMC after receiving the MusiCares Award for their philanthropy work according to Spin.

Tyler was awarded for his charity, Janie's Fund, which serves to protect and bring awareness to the issues of neglected girls and young women. The fund is named after the Aerosmith song "Janie's Got a Gun," and partners with a group called Youth Villages to provide safe spaces and extended care for the girls, according to the Janie's Fund website.
Steven Tyler was born 72 years ago in New York, and later moved to Boston where he formed Aerosmith with his bandmate Joe Perry, according to Biography.com. After a string of hits in the 70s and 80s like "Sweet Emotion," and "Dream On," they kept the momentum of their skyrocketing career in the 90s with "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing," from the "Armageddon" soundtrack, and "Crazy."
Tyler created his flamboyant stage persona with his signature scarves and outlandish outfits that he still keeps up with today. He went on to appear as a judge on "American Idol" for two years and is the father of four children including actress Liv Tyler and model Mia Tyler.
