Cat Takes First Trip To Beach And Seems To Develop Strong Opinion Regarding Wind

When Pumpkin, a little orange kitty cat who lives with owner Tia Stoddard in Canada, got a feel for the wind for the first time in 2020, it turned into a viral moment that his owners have used to bring joy to many others. Born from a fostered mom, Pumpkin, along with Moustacio, his brother, were the only two of the litter that their owners decided they could not part with.

While Pumpkin was the only orange feline out of the entire bunch, his color wasn't the only unique thing about him. Although not noticeable at first, as the kitten began to grow his adopted human family realized that there was something very peculiar about Pumpkin, as The Dodo reports. A later diagnosis revealed that the little kitty was suffering from cerebellar hypoplasia, which can affect the way that his brain functions and affect his ability to fully control his motor skills.

Fortunately, Pumpkin's case of cerebellar hypoplasia is a mild one and typically only causes him to have an unusual stride. With the occasional loss of balance and little slight head tremors that the illness can cause, Pumpkin oftentimes looks as though he is waddling. The family told The Dodo that the kitty almost looks as though he is trotting, somewhat like a clumsy puppy, as he attempts to lift each of his front paws one by one.

While it is typical for the family to see their newest 4-legged member waddling around the house, it was during a family beach trip that Pumpkin began his path to internet stardom. With Moustacio and Pumpkin's affinity for the outdoors and adventure, the family thought that going to the beach would be a huge hit with the two felines. Of course, they were right — that is until Pumpkin got a feel for what a good gust of wind is like.

As the wind began to change speed, so did Pumpkin's facial expressions as they went from a look of pure enjoyment to what could be construed as utter disgust. The faces that Pumpkin was making were something that his family thought to be so odd yet so amusing that they quickly started to take snapshots and videos in an attempt to catch the moment. Not that different from children, taking animals out and about and sharing their "first" experiences can produce some of the best memories and even funnier moments. Depending on the type of animal, they might have the urge to run completely wild while others might be more reserved or even skittish. While this wasn't really the case for Pumpkin as he did enjoy the beach a great deal, it was merely the wind that he wasn't too fond of.

One thing's for certain, although animals aren't able to speak, they sure know how to communicate their likes and dislikes with their faces. That is definitely the case with the orange kitty with the strange walk as his face was so expressive that it garnered the attention of many people who are now fans.

Although Pumpkin didn't appreciate the strong winds one bit, he and his brother Moustacio are still very adventurous felines who enjoy the outdoors and living with their family. Even though Pumpkin has a slight disability, he doesn't let that stop him at all. He is constantly living all nine of his best lives with glee. Fans keep up with him and Moustacio via an Instagram account where the two kitties can be seen kayaking with family and friends, hanging out on a dock, hiking, and so much more.

Not only is Pumpkin bringing joy to his family on a daily basis, but his social media page has also been providing entertaining content to people all around the world.
