Aside from Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks and other country music legends, another artist that many would think of when someone says country music is Carrie Underwood.

Underwood stands out among other country music artists due to her very distinctive high-register voice. In a review of one of her concerts, The Times Union described that "she'll let loose with an improbably long note that runs through more octaves than you knew existed."

Born on March 10, 1983, Underwood started her singing career when she was young, performing at her local church in Muskogee, Oklahoma. The singer finally skyrocketed to fame in 2005 following her win on the hit competition series "American Idol."

Following the show, Underwood went on to release a number of successful singles and albums while showcasing her incredible voice and vocal abilities. Some of her most well-known songs include "Before He Cheats," "All-American Girl" and "Jesus, Take The Wheel." Receiving plenty of awards and recognition, Underwood has gone on to become one of the most popular female country singers of all time.

Along with her success in the music industry, Underwood is also living a very colorful family life. She has been married for 13 years to Canadian-American National Hockey League player Mike Fisher. Fisher, who is more extroverted, seems to complement his wife's demure nature.

The couple’s wedding is something that many country girls like Underwood had dreamed of. Read on to learn more about Underwood’s marriage to Fisher and their fabulous wedding at the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation in Georgia back in 2010.

Two-hundred and fifty of Underwood and Fisher’s friends flocked to the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation in Georgia on July 10, 2010, for the couple's fairytale wedding. According to Radar Online and Glamour Magazine, the entire wedding was estimated to have cost the couple more than $500,000. Turns out, the price for the hotel alone, which hosts 251 rooms all in all, is already $268,000 per night.

Underwood and Fisher had the Presidential House, a massive offering of the hotel which was pegged at $4,000 a night. The 5,400 square-foot suite was composed of four master suites which housed two king-size rooms, two double bedrooms, a state-of-the-art gourmet kitchen, along with a terrace overlooking a golf course, their own private pool, a living room, and a dining room that can accommodate 16 people all at once.

Even the nearby water wells were secured to keep prying paparazzi and the public away from the intimate celebration. The plantation is known specifically for its guests’ privacy, as attendees arrived days before the actual wedding.

Notably, Underwood arrived in a helicopter at the luxurious lakeside venue where the couple exchanged vows in front of a fairytale backdrop where a tent was erected in the area.

At the time, country stars like Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Kellie Pickler, were in attendance, as well as “American Idol” judges like Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell

Speaking about the wedding to Us Magazine, Underwood was thrilled to see many of their friends and family in the celebration.

“He has a huge family; they're all really close. My family is big, but we're not that tight-knit. His is about three times the size of mine,” she said, as quoted by CBS News

According to People Magazine, Underwood and Fisher’s wedding was decked out to the most minute of details. Customized rugs, carpets and room keys were etcned with their initials “CM,” which stood for Carrie and Mike. The same could be seen on the dance floor and the back of the head-table chairs in the reception ballroom.

Photos of Underwood from the first few years of her career were included, as well as Fisher’s photo with his first hockey trophy.

“They are just family people – they’re going to make great parents,” Melissa Schleicher, Underwood’s makeup artist, told the magazine. She was also one of the Grammy-winning singer’s eight bridesmaids.

Underwood was dressed in a Monique Lhuillier gown, embroidered with more than 3,000 handmade silk organza flowers dusted with crystals. She also wore a 40-carat diamond and white gold tiara from Johnathon Arndt

“When we put her tiara on, she looked at me and said, ‘I’m getting married!’ Schleicher recalled to the magazine. “She’s found the love of her life — Mike is her Prince Charming.”

As for the cake, Underwood opted for the traditional route – two round cakes and six tiers of cupcakes – all baked to the bride’s favorite flavor, vanilla with vanilla buttercream frosting. The food was also specially curated for two contrasting appetites of the couple – one was vegetarian for Underwood, and steaks were served to meat-eaters like Fisher.

"We could not feel more blessed to have found each other and to have shared this day with our friends and family that mean so much to us," the couple said in a statement after getting married.

13 years into their marriage, Underwood and Fisher already have two children, two sons: Isaiah and Jacob. They now live on a jaw-dropping 400-acre farm in Tennessee.
