Carrie Underwood came on the country scene when she won “American Idol” in 2005, and only two weeks later she took to the venerated Grand Ole Opry stage, according to their website.

Over the years, the singer’s popularity increased as she rose up the charts, but she didn’t forget to visit the country music institution several times throughout her career. One appearance in 2012 was especially notable.

That was when she performed Alan Jackson’s ballad, “Remember When,” according to Rare Country. Before she dove into the love song she recalled how important one of her country heroes was to her:

“I think that definitely is part of what led me here because I wanted to do that so bad,” she says in the video. “My 10-year-old self wanted to sing with or around Alan Jackson if that was at all possible. In honor of that, I’m going to sing one of his songs tonight.”

Underwood pulled off the song with her own spin on it leading one video commenter to say “This is one of my favorites.. I think this is better than the original...sorry Alan! Such a perfect and beautiful voice!”

Now it’s time for you to form your opinion on it, do you agree with the commenter or is the original better?
