Calista Flockhart Rewears Her Iconic Yellow Skirt From 1999's Emmy Awards At ‘Indiana Jones’ Premiere

Vintage fashion is preserved in time, but it never goes out of style, and Hollywood actress Calista Flockhart knows this firsthand. The star actress attended the premiere of "Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny" on June 14, 2023, reenacting one of her iconic looks, and she looked as stunning as the first time she rocked the stylish outfit. The Hollywood star attended the event to support her spouse and longtime "Indiana Jones" actor, Harrison Ford.
Flockhart has been active in the movie and film industry for over three decades, having made her acting debut in 1989. At that time, she took on a minor role in the CBS-produced "Guiding Light." She had a stint in theater, appearing on the New York stage for "Beside Herself." Flockhart made her Broadway debut in 1994 in "The Glass Menagerie" before taking up more movie roles.
The star actress got her big break in 1997 when she appeared in the TV series, "Ally McBeal." Flockhart played the principal role of the titular character and became known for her craft. She was initially skeptical about being on the series because of the level of commitment needed for episodic shows, but the script piqued her interest.
The TV star earned a Golden Globe Award for the role the following year. She was also nominated three times for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Flockhart attended the 1999 Emmy Awards, rocking a look that proved to be timeless years later. She slipped her willowy figure into a bright golden yellow Ralph Lauren skirt that flowed down her legs in an A-line shape.
Flockhart's glam choice was a simple but stylish look, including the long silk skirt and a buttoned-down white shirt. She styled the shirt like a cropped top, leaving her midriff in view and tying the shirttail into a knot. The movie starlet wore her straight blond tresses down, which grazed her shoulders.
She spiced up the chic look with a diamond necklace and diamond studs while her feet were covered in strappy sandals. Flockhart completed her glam choice with bright red lipstick and a shiny yellow purse. Although she did not win the award, the show aced the accolade for Best Comedy Series.
After "Ally McBeal" was canceled in 2002, Flockhart forged ahead in her acting career. She starred in 2006's "Brothers & Sisters" alongside stars like Sally Field, Matthew Rhys and Rachel Griffiths. More of her projects include "The Last Shot," "Fragile" and "Supergirl," among others.
Flockhart married movie icon Ford in 2010 after years of dating. The duo first met in 2002 at the Golden Globes Award. The pair struck up a conversation after she spilled her drink on him. Once in an interview with Hello Magazine, Flockhart refuted the story noting that it was the other way around.
However, the drink issue only helped them find each other, and in 2010, they walked down the aisle in a luxury Santa Fe ceremony. While Ford had been married twice, it was Flockhart's first marriage. It is safe to say that the couple have been supporting each other since then.

The admirable level of support could be gleaned when Flockhart accompanied her husband to the premiere of his new movie. The "Indiana Jones" franchise marked a pivotal moment in Ford's career since he started playing the role in 1981.
For the premiere of "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny," Flockhart recreated her 1999 glam, proving that the fashion item never went out of style. Styled by her longtime fashion stylist, Elizabeth Stewart, Flockhart paired her vintage Ralph Lauren skirt with a figure-hugging off-the-shoulder black top. She rocked minimal jewelry, leaving it at a pair of hoops.
An elated Stewart posted snaps of Flockhart rocking the classy outfit on Instagram, looking as vibrant as the first time she stepped out in it. Stewart captioned her post:
"CalistaFlockhart heading to the Los Angeles premiere of #IndianaJones in the same golden yellow @ralphlauren skirt she wore to the Emmys in 1999! Cherish and re-wear your clothes, people! 😉😊💛💛💛💛💛💛💛 (and yes, we've worked together that long!)"
Stewart's post got many of Flockhart's fans nostalgic as they gushed over the look. Although Ralph Lauren doesn't have the exact skirt in stock, there is a modernized version in their spring and summer 2023 collection.
While Flockhart's maxi skirt had media users reminiscing about the vintage glam, Flockhart's spouse also had some moments reflecting on his role as Indiana Jones. Speaking to ET's Cassie DiLaura, the actor opened up on how he felt the role came full circle with "Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny." Ford noted that he was "grateful" for the opportunity to make the film again, even as he played the role for many years.
