Bruno Mars Honors Sting With 'Message In A Bottle' And 'So Lonely' Tribute Performance

Sting was the lead singer of the popular English rock band The Police. He has won 25 American Music Awards, 17 Grammy Awards and 2 MTV Video Music Awards. And in 2014, he added another feather in his cap after receiving Kennedy Center Honors. At the subsequent Kennedy Center event honoring the musician for his achievements, Bruno Mars sang Message In A Bottle and So Lonely in a tribute to the legendary frontman.

Kennedy Center Chairman David M. Rubenstein states that, “The Kennedy Center Honors celebrates icons who, through their artistry, have left an indelible stamp on our collective cultural consciousness," according to the organization's website. Sting, with his intense musical talent and influence, has earned a spot at the Kennedy Center Honors. Bruno Mars joined other musical greats like Bruce Springsteen and Lady Gaga to celebrate the English musician at the tribute event back in 2014, according to Rolling Stone.

Both men are amazing musical artists, so it makes sense that they would pick Bruno Mars to help perform a tribute to Sting. The audience, including Sting and even the president and first lady at the time, Barack and Michelle Obama, loved the performance. It makes sense that they loved it, too. Bruno Mars sings an amazing rendition of the songs with his vocals adding a special touch to Sting's originals.
