Katherine Kelly Lang is an American actress that is best known for playing the role of Brooke Logan on the CBS soap opera "The Bold and the Beautiful." Lang was born in Hollywood, California, and has been acting since she was 3-years-old. She began by performing in commercials and later graduated from Beverly Hills High School.

In 1979, after graduating from high school, Lang appeared in the film "Skatetown, USA" along with Scott Baio, Maureen McCormick and Patrick Swayze. She went on to have roles in numerous television series until she landed the part of Brooke Logan on "The Bold and the Beautiful." The star has appeared in other film and TV projects over the years but has been a consistent player on the soap opera.

As one of the series' last remaining original cast members, Lang has become an integral part of the show. So, it made sense to center a special episode around her character in order to celebrate the series' 35th anniversary in 2022. The special episode is set to air on March 24 and will be dedicated to Brooke Logan and her "five true loves."

In her personal life, Lang has been married and divorced twice. Her first marriage was to Skott Snider, and they share two sons, Jeremy and Julian. The actress was married a second time to Alex D'Andrea. They divorced in 2014 after 15 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences, but share a daughter named Zoe. Lang has always been in love with acting and eventually found her role on "The Bold and the Beautiful." She shared:

"I had been acting for a while. I grew up in the film business with my parents and had been doing some commercials and some TV and movies. My grandfather was a great cinematographer. He had 18 nominations and won an Academy Award. I had been doing commercials since I was 3-years-old. Then when I graduated from high school I got 'Skatetown' and decided not to go to college. And then I kept working, I did nighttime spots."

The actress added, "I had turned down some soaps before 'The Bold and the Beautiful' came along. When that one came along I thought, 'Well, it's a brand new show, it's a half-hour.' I thought it would be interesting to create my own character. So I went in, I kept meeting with producers, I screen-tested, and then I got the part."

When asked what other soap operas she considered working on, Lang responded:

"New York soaps mostly. I did work on 'The Young and the Restless' as a summer character when I was 18. I don't remember which soaps I had turned down. I was nervous about being an LA girl in New York, and also they weren't offering enough money to actually live there. It didn't make sense to me."

Even though she has been acting since age three, Lang did have another childhood dream. "Becoming a horse trainer," she said. "I wanted to do something with horses. My mother had me on a horse when I was a baby. I just remember riding little ponies when I was little, getting dumped, and then getting back on. I didn't care, I just wanted to ride."

March 2022 marks 35 years that "The Bold and the Beautiful" has been on the air. The senior vice president of CBS daytime programming, Margot Wain, said in a statement: "For 35 years, 'The Bold and the Beautiful' has been a cornerstone of our #1 daytime lineup. Congratulations to our talented cast and crew, as well as Bradley Bell, who have made this show a creative and ratings success."

The executive producer and head writer, Bradley Belladded:

"Thirty-five years ago, I would have never imagined what was in store. Since our premiere in 1987, it's been a fantastic journey and incredible experience for all of us. We would not be here if not for the invaluable support of CBS and our millions of fans around the globe for their loyalty and support."

As for Lang, she shared in 2020 what the series has meant to her over the years. She said:

"It's been an amazing opportunity for me. It's been my life basically! 33 years on 'The Bold and the Beautiful,' and the show has always kicked butt. I mean, the show has been going strong ever since it started, and it still is going strong. It's just been an honor to be on the show and remain on the show for so long as one of the original characters."

The star continued, "My heart really goes out to the fans, because honestly, so many of them tell me they've watched from day one. We have a history with them raising their families. Younger people come up and say, 'I've been watching the show ever since I was little with my mom.' So, there's a wide range of different people who watch the show, and I appreciate them so much."
