Brian Dennehy ‘Tommy Boy’ And ‘First Blood’ Actor Has Passed At 81 Of Natural Causes

Brian Dennehy, star of the Rambo movie "First Blood," has passed away on Wednesday at the age of 81. He will be well remembered with fondness for his decades-long experience in Hollywood in beloved movies and roles.

He passed away from natural causes not related to the coronavirus in New Haven, Connecticut, his talent agency confirmed to CNN and daughter Elizabeth tweeted.

The two-time Tony award-winning actor was a versatile talent who appeared in the action movies "First Blood" and "Silverado," but also voiced a rat in "Ratatouille," and appeared in the comedy "Tommy Boy." His incredible list of acting credits tallied up to around 180 according to IMDb.

His fellow celebrity friends were devastated at the news and posted touching tributes on social media. His friend Mia Farrow posted a sweet photo of Dennehy and her puppy Bowie together saying there is no one she enjoyed working with more.

Dennehy's turn as Willy Loman in "Death of a Salesman" on Broadway had also inspired other actors including Lin-Manuel Miranda and Josh Gad, the latter who said "For those who never got to see Brian's towering performance in "Death of A Salesman," it will go down as one of the crowing performances ever delivered in a stage."

After playing opposite him in "First Blood," Sylvester Stallone wrote on Instagram that he was a "brilliant performer." He added that Brian's experience as a Vietnam War veteran also helped him bring the character of John Rambo to the screen.

He is survived by his wife Jennifer Arnott and their two children. He also had three daughters from a previous marriage to Judith Scheff reports NBC.
