As part of the new television series Celebrity IOU, celebrities like Brad Pitt and Melissa McCarthy will team up with HGTV’s Property Brothers to give home makeovers to individuals who have had a major impact on the celebrities’ lives. The show will premiere on the home improvement and reality TV channel on April 13.

According to a press release from HGTV, the show will invite “Hollywood A-listers,” including confirmed stars Brad Pitt, Melissa McCarthy, Viola Davis, Rebel Wilson and Michael Bublé. To see all those celebrities out of their elements, knocking down walls and using power tools on television is bound to be surreal, if not super entertaining. But luckily, they’ll have help from the experienced Property Brothers. For those who aren’t familiar with the Property Brothers, the new show’s host, they are twin brothers, Drew and Jonathan Scott, known for another HGTV series of the same name. In the new HGTV series, the celebrity guests will invite hosts Drew and Jonathan into their lives in order to design a customized space for someone they appreciate in their lives — whether that’s an old friend, co-worker, mentor or family member. Projects in the first season include transforming an outdated condo into a modern home and reimagining a dull backyard.

“It’s amazing to see someone who is extremely successful be grounded enough to always remember the people who helped them get there,” Jonathan said in the press release. “Being a part of this show really hits home for us,” Drew added. “This is what we love to do, transforming people’s lives through their homes.”

Jane Latman, HGTV’s president, said in the press release that the series aims to celebrate “the power of human connection” that the channel features in its other shows like Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and the upcoming Home Town Takeover. In that spirit, Celebrity IOU will focus on honoring and rewarding the folks who are there for us in our time of need.

In a preview clip that Showbiz Cheat Sheet aqcuired, Melissa McCarthy gave fans a sneak peak into what the new show would be like. For McCarthy, who comes from an Irish family that is full of active and former police officers, she wanted to give back to her aunt and uncle, both retired officers.

“They’ve spent their whole life taking care of other people,” McCarthy said, according to Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “I couldn’t think of anyone else that deserves it more.”

“It’s really easy to give back to two people that have done nothing but give,” McCarthy added.

In the new episode, after consulting with the Property Brothers, McCarthy decides to give her aunt and uncle’s home two makeovers — a man cave for her uncle and an upstairs retreat for her aunt. But celebrities on the show don’t just help come up with the ideas — they also get their hands dirty. According to Showbiz Cheat Sheet, McCarthy even goes at a wall with a sledgehammer, which most people probably cannot wait to see.

For fans of the Property Brothers or home makeover shows, the new home improvement show will air Mondays at 9 p.m. (8:00 p.m. central time) beginning April 13 on HGTV, and viewers can check out HGTV’s social media account for updates regarding Celebrity IOU.
