Edna Guerrero witnessed an incredibly heartwarming moment. She noticed how sweetly a police officer had reassured a sobbing young boy and just had to share it.

She wrote, "Those that do the most, those that go above and beyond are those that are rarely recognized."

The man was Rusty Baubie, a school resource officer in Phoenix, Arizona. He is known for his caring nature and incredible responsiveness. This moment, however, stood out.

A young student was completely overwhelmed. He had collapsed in the hallway at school, head between his knees. The boy was distraught and couldn't stop crying. He also appeared to be engaged in negative self-talk.

That's when Baubie stepped in. He happened to be on his rounds when he discovered the boy. Baubie sat next to this child for several moments. The officer was incredibly quiet and gentle with him. He simply reminded the boy how loved he really is.

We aren't defined by our mistakes.

Baubie saw through the boy's tears and helped him recover his sense of self-worth. This act of mercy has now gone viral.Sargent Armando Carbajal is a a public information officer at the Phoenix Police Department. Like Guerrero, Carbajal is deeply aware of the impact that Baubie has had.

Baubie has been an officer at the department for 13 years. During that time, he's brought light and joy to everyone he meets. Baubie is equally inspiring out of uniform: he's a humble, loving husband and father.

Sgt. Carbajal commented that police officers are there to be guiding lights within the communities they serve. However, Baubie has consistently gone above and beyond that call of duty.

No matter how desperate a situation may seem to be, we're never alone. There will always be someone there to lend a helping hand. Who knows? That someone might be you!
