Country singer Blake Shelton is a judge on the latest season of “The Voice” and recently had some kind words to say about an auditioning singer. He went into an emotional story that his fellow judges were clearly moved by.

Singer Zach Bridges went on his Blind Audition on the show to sing “Ol’ Red,” clearly to get the attention of Shelton since it’s one of his signature songs. While he’s usually a joke-cracking comic relief kind of judge, Blake Shelton went into an emotional mood and reacted to the performance.

He started off his story talking about his teenage self just trying to make it big in the music business saying, “I never would have dreamed how important that song would be in my life. I moved to Nashville when I was 17. The only thing I knew in the world was that I wanted to be a country singer. I had just graduated high school and two weeks later I was sitting in Nashville.”

He shared the story about his big break from a chance meeting.

“My first job was painting a house for Mae Boren Axton, whose son was Hoyt Axton. [He was] living in her driveway on his tour bus and he invited me onto his bus one day and he sang me that song. And little did I know—I was a 17-year-old kid from Ada, Oklahoma, came there, didn't know what I was gonna do—within no time I had found what would go on to be possibly my signature song. And now here, all these years later, that's the song that you chose to sing. And that song is timeless."

The other judges immediately reacted along with the applauding audience. Kelly Clarkson said, “That was really sweet, look at this bromance.”

Judge John Legend was incredulous at the moment and said, “That story melted my heart man. Blake lies a lot on this show and it’s like, Blake is actually human he’s like a decent person sometimes.”

It was no surprise that Zach Bridges picked Blake to be his coach. Who would you pick if you were on ‘The Voice?’
