Blake Lively Admits She's 'Tired' From Being A Mom To Her 4 Children With Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are one of Hollywood’s most delightful – not to mention aesthetically pleasing – married couples. Since meeting on the set of the film “Green Lantern,” they’ve been enamored with one another. Reynolds, who was married to Scarlett Johansson at the time, filed for divorce in 2010 before marrying “Gossip Girl” star Lively in 2012. 

With their hilarious social media posts poking fun at each other, as well as their entertaining and down-to-earth videos and interviews, the pair are clearly having a grand old time being married. Add to the mix four kids, and you can be sure the Reynolds household is never short on fun.

Despite having a fun and loving family, it appears it can be tiring for the couple sometimes, as they've both poked fun at being exhausted from their large brood on social media.

Before diving into the “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” star’s true feelings for her family, let’s take a look at her lovely children with Reynolds.

According to People Magazine, the power couple welcomed their first daughter, James Reynolds, on Dec. 16, 2014. Although it was odd for some to hear that they named their daughter a traditional boy's name, there is a heartwarming story behind it.

Speaking with Mr. Porter in a 2018 interview, the “Deadpool” actor said they named their daughter after his father, who died after she was born.

On the other hand, they had their second daughter, Inez Reynolds, on Sept. 30, 2016. The little girl was said to have a “dark side” as explained in an interview with “Live with Kelly and Ryan” because she was “super into villains.”

Next, the couple’s third daughter, Betty Reynolds, was born on Oct. 4, 2019, while their youngest, who still remains anonymous as of July 2023, was announced in February of that year.

Ever since Lively became a mother, it has changed her life significantly as she told Forbes in a 2022 interview that she became “more profound” because her time was even “more precious.”

“I think having children, for me, made me feel so much more in my skin… I never felt more myself or at ease in my own body or more confident,” she added.

Speaking about how she handles her children, Lively told People Magazine in 2021 that it’s important for her to be as “present of a mother as humanly possible,” and she wanted her kids to feel her presence.

However, she also noted in the interview that being the best mother is to show her children that she has a life and a passion, as well as “an identity outside of just being a mother.”

Aside from being a full-time mom to her lovely children, Lively is also a successful actress. She wants her children to see her work, and although she found it “inappropriate” to bring them on set with her, the star revealed she is lucky to have a job that allows her to do so.

Lively is not alone in raising her children, as she has her husband, Reynolds, by her side. But the actor admitted in a 2022 interview with Netflix’s “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction” that his wife was the one who taught him everything about being a parent.

“Blake, full disclosure, really showed me how to do all this,” he told host David Letterman.

He also proved his love for his family as he made a big move in 2021 by taking a break from show business for his wife to focus on her career, so he could spend time with their children.

Being a mother to children is not as easy as one might think, as there are some moms out there who need to take a break every once in a while. This is what Lively felt as she shared her true feelings with her online fans. While promoting her brand called Betty Booze on her official Instagram account, the actress shared, “@betty booze if you’re also tired. Or lazy. But like me, you still have an ego about what you serve. Or if you just appreciate your mouth.”

She also took to her Instagram stories, as reported by Glamour Magazine, to express similar sentiments, as she wrote, “I have 4 kids now. I’m tired.”

Lively just added entrepreneur to her list of accomplishments as she launched her canned cocktail line featuring three home-curated flavors: sparkling tequila with oak smoked lemonade, sparkling tequila with lime shisho, and sparkling bourbon with apple ginger sour cherry.

It's been a busy 2023 for Lively, as it's also the same year when she and her husband announced to the world that they welcomed their fourth child.

During the Super Bowl Sunday of 2023, the actress shared a photo of herself on Instagram posing with her partner and his mom Tammy. Many followers noticed that she no longer had a baby bump, which led them to speculate that she already gave birth.

It appears that the couple’s fourth baby also became an inspiration for them, as Reynolds told his followers in a June 2023 post that the idea for his show “Bedtime Stories” was born the same day as his fourth child.

“The idea for a show made to help everyone fall asleep was born the same day as my fourth child,” Reynolds wrote on Instagram. “I can’t wait for you to watch Bedtime Stories.”
