A recording of Queen performing their song These Are the Days of Our Lives has started resurfacing online since its posting in 2018. This footage shows allegedly the last time Freddie Mercury appeared on camera. With the single having been released just two months before the singer's death, Queen fans everywhere have been astounded by what they have seen.
Freddie Mercury would go on to pass away due to health complications from his AIDS diagnosis, according to Smooth Radio, just months after the video surfaced. What information has emerged alongside the video for These Are the Days of Our Lives is the state of the beloved singer at the time.
It was decided that the music video for the song would be released in black and white. At the time, this was entirely practical and not simply a stylistic choice. Mercury was suffering from the complications of his illness and appeared so gaunt and ill in the footage that it was released in black and white in hopes of disguising this fact.

The single was released on the same record as Bohemian Rhapsody, seeing its debut on the charts just after Mercury tragically passed away. The video in question was filmed roughly six months before Mercury's passing, giving fans of the classic band a tragic look into Mercury's declining health at the time.
Perhaps even more heartbreaking is the footage interspersed with Mercury's last filmed project. The music video for These Are the Days of Our Lives features footage from a live performance from Queen between recorded takes of the band. The performance chosen to be featured in this video was from Mercury's last live performance.
Fans of Queen will mourn Mercury's last two performances, both featured in the music video and the making-of. The behind-the-scenes video documenting the filming of the music video is tragic in itself, featuring footage of Mercury examining his own gaunt appearance.
Showing some of the footage for the music video in full color, fans of the lively and charismatic singer may feel heartbroken at the state in which he was in just before his death.
