Baby Born With Full Head Of Hair First Visited The Barber At Just 3 Months Old

Arthur Patel has been unique since birth. When Arthur was born in September of 2017, the little cutie had a full head of hair. Since then, Arthur's hair has been growing at such a rate that he had to have his first haircut at just 12 weeks old. This differs from most babies, who usually get their first haircut shortly before their first birthday. Even more astonishing is that the little tyke has had to get another eight haircuts despite not even being two.

Arthur’s mother, 33-year-old teaching assistant Anna Barnard, said that the nurses and midwives who attended to her during her labor commented on the thickness of her son’s hair.

When Anna brought Arthur to their home in Stevenage, Herts, doctors said that he wouldn’t even have to wear the tiny hats that many hospitals give families to keep their little one's head warm. Doctors advised that Arthur’s own hair would keep him warm. In interviews with reporters, Anna credits her husband, Richard, for Arthur’s beautiful hair.

The young mom confessed that at first, she didn’t understand the fascination others had with Arthur’s lush mane. From doctors in the hospital to complete strangers on the street, everyone seemed to comment on the beauty of Arthur’s hairline. Anna realized that her son was unique when she had to take him for his first haircut.

The hairdressers at Anna’s salon were amazed by Arthur, never having seen a 12-week-old child who already needed a haircut. Anna says that now that Arthur is a little older, he goes with Richard to his barber, who gives him more of a proper cut every six weeks.

Since making international headlines, Anna has been asked to comment on an old wive’s tale that suggests that if a woman has heartburn during pregnancy, it means that the baby will have very thick hair. Anna says that she never experienced heartburn when she carried Arthur, saying that he gets the “hairy gene” from his father.
