At 83, Al Pacino Calls It Quits With His 29-Year-Old Partner 3 Months After Their Baby’s Birth

Al Pacino has a career spanning over five decades. The actor and filmmaker has been in plenty of movies and television shows and has lent his talents beyond just acting on screen. With a long history of work and a healthy list of accolades, Al has certainly made a name for himself in the entertainment industry. He has found love over the years, although he has never been married, and his relationships have borne him multiple children over the years. 

But before he could find love, Al had to find fame, and that journey would take years. In love with the stage from a young age, Al began acting in basement plays in New York. His struggle was intense, and Al was at times unemployed and even homeless. Al’s efforts paid off, and his stage career was, eventually, bountiful, but the money still wasn’t always there. 

The now legendary movie icon welcomed his first child with his ex-girlfriend and acting coach Jan Tarrant in 1989. From 1997 to 2003, he was attached to actress Beverly D’Angelo, with whom he had twins in 2001. In April 2022, it was reported Al was in a relationship with Noor Alfallah, a woman 54 his junior. This meant Al was 83 and Alfallah was 29 when they first began dating. In June 2023, Al welcomed his first child with her named Roman Pacino, making him one of the oldest celebrity fathers on record. 

However, the course of love hasn’t run smoothly for Al, and he and Alfallah have reportedly split. Read on to find out more about Al’s past and details about how things will go legally for Al and his newborn son.

Al Pacino turned 83 in 2023, and is still an in-demand Hollywood actor. In a 2013 National Post interview, Pacino said earnestly, “It's actually more fun now." 

With such a long-lasting career, it may have seemed impossible for Al to find time for romance, much less a family. However, despite the demands of a Hollywood schedule, Al learned to strike a work-life balance. While he never got married, Al has had a few serious relationships over the years and fathered four children. 

His first daughter, Julie Marie Pacino, was born in 1989 to Al and her mother, Jan Tarrant, an acting coach. Later in his life, Al was in a serious relationship with actress Beverly D’Angelo from 1997 until 2003. The couple welcomed twins Anton James and Olivia Rose on Jan. 25, 2001. D'Angelo is most famous for being an actress in both film and television series, with a handful of award nominations. She is also known for being a singer. Her big break came from a leading role in "National Lampoon's Vacation," starring alongside Chevy Chase.

Al's personal life has been on the down low after his relationship with D’Angelo. It wasn’t until 2022 that his love life was reignited. 

According to Page Six, Al and Alfallah have been together for a while. She comes from a wealthy family and was previously linked to Mick Jagger, Nicolas Berggruen and Clint Eastwood – although she has clarified that Eastwood was only a family friend.

In April 2022, Al and Alfallah were spotted together at a group dinner following an art exhibition. Fellow actor Jason Momoa uploaded photos of the occasion on his Instagram, which showed the couple sitting next to each other.

According to the Daily Mail, Al and Alfallah celebrated the former’s birthday in 2022 at an Italian restaurant in West Hollywood. A source said that the 54-year age difference was not a “problem” for them, even though Al is older than Alfallah’s father. 

A year later, it seemed like Al and Alfallah’s love had blossomed into a beautiful outcome. Initially reported by TMZ on May 30, 2023, sources revealed that Alfallah was a month away from delivering Al’s fourth child and the first for his new girlfriend. 

Insiders said that Alfallah was already eight months pregnant then, but the baby's gender had yet to be revealed. Al’s representatives confirmed the story to People Magazine. TMZ even noted that Al beat his co-actor and dear friend Robert DeNiro, who welcomed his seventh child at 79 years old in 2023. 

Like his friend DeNiro, Al is an experienced father. Speaking to The New Yorker, Al discussed his idea of fatherhood as related to his three children.

“I'm responsible to them. I'm a part of their life. When I'm not, it's upsetting to me and to them. So that's part of the gestalt. And I get a lot from it. It takes you out of yourself,” he said. 

Part of what makes the actor so serious about his responsibility as a dad is his lack of a relationship with his own father. On his dad's influence over his own parenting, Al said, "The conclusion of my teachers was that I needed a dad."

On June 15, 2023, the star and Alfallah welcomed their child Roman, who was born in Cedar's Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.

However, Al and Alfallah’s love story would not have such a happy ending as on Sept. 6, 2023, the latter filed for full custody of Roman. According to court papers seen by Blast!, while Alfallah is seeking full physical custody of their child, she is willing to grant “reasonable visitation” rights to Al. She is also offering Al joint legal custody over Roman, which would allow him to be involved in serious decisions such as medical treatment, education and religious matters.

The documents also showed that, just six days after Roman’s birth, both Al and Alfallah, as well as a witness, had signed a “voluntary declaration of parentage.” According to the California Courts, the declaration is a “government form two parents can sign to create a legal parent-child relationship between a child and parent” and is “often signed at the hospital when a child is born, but it can be signed later.”

Alfallah is also seeking for a court order mandating Al pay for all her lawyer’s fees and costs associated with the case.

The specific amount of child support was not detailed. By California law, the court must first determine the income of both parents before making a decision on the amount and ordering it.

According to a Showbiz 411 report, sources claimed Al had been “shocked” by news of Alfallah’s pregnancy, which she had allegedly kept hidden from him for the first 11 weeks. Al apparently also sought a DNA test to determine whether he was indeed the father. Alfallah acquiesced, and a test showed Al to be the biological father.
