At 76, Glenn Close Glows In Natural Makeup-Free Selfie While Often Praising Her Lookalike Daughter

Glenn Close is one of the most recognizable artists in the Hollywood industry as she has appeared in countless films throughout her career. In addition to being an amazing actress, she has also been recognized by major award-giving bodies for her talent as she's been nominated and already won a handful of them.

The actress was born on March 19, 1947. She spent her early days in Greenwich, Connecticut. Her parents were William Close and Elizabeth Mary Hester. 

Ever since she was a kid, Close had been destined to act as she mentioned in a speech at Princeton University in 2009 that she grew up with an “unfettered imagination.” Whenever she would play with her friends at an early age, she would “play whatever character our games demanded.”

She added that it might be one of the reasons why acting became “so natural” to her as she never wanted to stop playing.

Close has starred in several films and television programs such as “What Happened to Monday,” “The Wife,” “Crooked House” and more. However, her most prominent role was as Cruella De Vil in the movie “101 Dalmatians.”

Regarding her personal life, the actress was first married to Cabot Wade in 1969, but their marriage didn’t last as they got divorced in 1971. Other spouses were James Marlas and David Shaw.

She also had a relationship with John Starke in 1987, and their love bore fruit at the time as they welcomed their daughter Annie Starke to the world, who went on to become an actress like her mother. The proud mom can't stop gushing about her only child as she often praises her in interviews.

In 2023, Close turned 76, and she still looks fabulous regardless if she’s wearing makeup or not. The stunning actress frequently shares bare-faced selfies on social media, impressing her fans with her natural beauty. 

In May 2022, Close spoke in an interview with Glamour magazine where she opened up about motherhood and aging. She also spoke about her lookalike daughter, Annie Starke. In the conversation, the actress was asked if she had faced some challenges that other women go through, like having Starke when her career was about to take off after the movie “Fatal Attraction.”

She noted that the only sacrifice she made was “having to wean my baby after six weeks” because, on the seventh week, she had to fly to France to film the movie “Dangerous Liaisons.”

Close also added that Starke had been interested in having a career in the entertainment industry as early as 3 years old.

“When she was about three, she came up to me one day and she said, ‘I want you. I want all of you,’” she said.

She also gushed about her daughter as she said: “I’m a mother, so I’m proud of my daughter, most of all. I’m proud that she’s a fantastic human being. I’m proud that she’s fiercer than I am.” Close also noted that Starke is the person she would always get an opinion from because “she’ll have a perspective that I know I don’t have, and I need that perspective.”

The actress proved her love for her daughter in an Instagram post shared on Mother's Day 2023. She shared a photo of the two of them together, and in the caption, the actress wrote: “And eternal love to the beautiful soul who made me a Mother. How different the world would be without you.”

The actress continues to be active on social media as she keeps posting updates about herself as well as sharing pictures and videos with her followers. Oftentimes, Close presents herself without any makeup, and fans love that she has gone the more natural route with her looks.

In one of the videos she posted, shared in March 2023, Close, who sat in front of a painting of Elizabeth I from the set of “101 Dalmatians,” revealed that she was staying in New York after a trip from Los Angeles. She was in LA as she was supposed to attend the Academy Awards that year to present an award with Harrison Ford.

Unfortunately, when she arrived in the city, she tested positive for COVID-19 and was required to be isolated for six days. Although she was not feeling that great when she filmed the video, she was happy to be back as she was reunited with her dog.

Fans took to the comment section to send their well-wishes as well as praise her for her look.
