Christie Brinkley is a world-famous supermodel. The beautiful blonde was born in February of 1954 in Michigan before growing up in California. After graduating high school, Brinkley took her first leap of faith and moved to Paris to study art. It was in Paris that her world changed. One day, while in a Paris post office, a famous photographer discovered her.
Shortly after, Brinkley would go on to sign three national ad campaigns. Brinkley's beauty quickly became a worldwide hit as her rise to fame grew. The supermodel would make history as she graced the cover of three Sports Illustrated magazines three years in a row. Soon it was more than just Sports Illustrated calling.
Brinkley signed a huge contract with beauty brand Covergirl for 25 years, one of the longest and biggest beauty deals ever. She was also stepping on every magazine cover imaginable, including Vogue, Rolling Stone, Esquire, Harper's Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and Glamour, just to name a few.
Besides striking gold in her career, Brinkley was the apple of quite a few bachelors' eyes. The supermodel would go on to have four marriages. First to François Allaux in 1973, American singer Billy Joel in 1985, Richard Taubman in 1994 and Peter Cook in 1996. Brinkley shares children with Joel, Taubman and Cook.
Brinkley might be the blonde bombshell that fans loved and adored for decades, but in 2023, things were changing as she got candid with her followers about having gray hair, and she opened up the conversation on whether she would keep it or not.
Christie Brinkley took to her official Instagram account in March 2023 to share photos of herself hanging out at the beach. It seemed to be a laid-back day for the supermodel as she only wore a brown coat on top of a black top, a pair of ripped jeans and boots.
As fans scrolled through the carousel of images, the model bravely flaunted her gray roots and opened up the conversation about having gray hair. In the caption, the model noted that when gray hair starts growing, it raises the question to people if they should keep it or not, but she noted that both are personal preferences or a “fun change of pace.”
“The second you see gray hair it raises the question , just like when you cut bangs ..to keep or not to keep?,” she wrote.
Brinkley said her son thought her new hairstyle was “cool,” but she had to wait until it’s “more like the silver whitecaps than the grey wave itself.” She added: “The verdict is still out ! Happy Sunday!”
After the model shared the post, fans took to the comment section to express their individual opinions regarding growing gray hair.
One fan noted that having gray hair is somehow connected to aging as they wrote: “Grey hair makes us look OLD! Blond till the end.” Another person noted that having gray hair is “fabulous,” but they prefer to have a combination of two colors, popularly known as “pepper.”
“Gray hair is FABULOUS!! You don't need to be fully gray to go gray!... I LOVE my natural highlights! Do what makes you happy!” the fan commented.

Another fan noted that having gray hair seemed to be the new trend and it would look good on Brinkley as they wrote, “Gray is the new blonde…you would look stunning!”
There were other commenters who gave advice to the supermodel as they told her to only go gray when she’s ready to commit to it.
“Would love to see you as a #silversister when you're ready,” one wrote.
“When your ready you can rock it… Whatever you choose you look fantastic!!” another one commented.
It appears that Brinkley has no problem with her age as she has fully embraced it. In an August 2023 interview with People Magazine during a senior pet adoption event in New York City, the model opened up about her true feelings about approaching her 70s.
“I pretty much feel, as I'm approaching 70, the same way that I felt when I was approaching 30. I feel good. I feel strong,” she said.
She added that her age didn’t match her spirit, so she “may as well just keep sprinting on.” Elsewhere in the conversation, Brinkley admitted that she was surprised about her thoughts on aging as she didn’t feel the way she was supposed to be feeling at the time.
“I don't believe that focusing on age is going to make you feel any better about it,” she said.
Regarding the things that kept her young and going in life, the model said she loves spending the time she has with her family and friends. She also noted that laughter is one of the main secrets toward healing as it “heals everything.”
