Mayim Bialik is one of the most recognizable public figures in television as she was one of the replacements for Alex Trebek on the popular and beloved game show “Jeopardy!” as well as being a beloved star on the show “The Big Bang Theory”
Although she has been working in the entertainment industry since the late 1980s, not all of her fans or the public knew what she had been through in her personal life, especially her previous marriages and the way she took care of her children.
Let’s take a look at Bialik’s life as a mother to her two sons as well as her life as a partner to her ex-husband, Michael Stone.
Born Mayim Chaya Bialik in San Diego, California, in 1975, the actress/TV host has extensive knowledge not only in acting but also in science.
Before she completed her studies, she first became a child actress in the 1980s. Her debut role was in the movie “Pumpkinhead” released in 1988. She later appeared in different projects such as “Webster,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and many more.
After she went to high school at North Hollywood High School in Los Angeles, California, she attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she completed her studies for a Bachelor of Science in neuroscience.
Aside from her initial bachelor’s degree, she also had minors in Jewish studies and Hebrew. In addition, she went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy degree at the same university two years after she returned to acting in 2005.
In addition to her doctoral degree, being an actress and a television personality, Bialik is also a famous author, as she wrote several books about parenting and cooking.
In her personal life, Mayim Bialik tied the knot with Michael Stone in August 2003. Although their wedding revolved around the theme of Victorian fashion, the couple decided to incorporate traditional Jewish wedding customs.
The couple had two children together named Frederick Stone and Miles Stone, whom she later raised alone as the custody of the two went to her following their divorce.
Unfortunately, their love could not withstand the test of time, and almost a decade later, in November 2012, Bialik filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences,” as reported by Yahoo! Entertainment.
In a blog post on Kveller written by the actress herself, she wrote that their divorce was not something she and Stone decided lightly.
“The main priority for us now is to make the transition to two loving homes as smooth and painless as possible,” she wrote at the time.
Even though the couple has been separated for years, it appears that they still maintain an amicable relationship, as she revealed in a blog post on Grok Nation published in 2018.
At the time, Stone and his girlfriend, along with her children and ex-husband, were joined by Bialik and her family.
It was a complicated situation at first glance, but the actress explained the situation. Initially, she admitted that she felt nervous, but she stated a number of things why she decided to push through.
The number one reason was her children, as she wanted them to celebrate events together because doing separate holidays “seems excessive and sad.”
Bialik also wanted to set a good example for her two boys so that they could witness that their parents are “working together to make holidays special together.”

At the time, Bialik said 2018 was all about change because, in her own words, “When things change, it’s important to keep some things the same.”
Regarding her thoughts on pain, the actress said life could be painful, but she had a different perspective on handling things because she forced herself “not to wallow in self-pity.”
“It can be present while simultaneously moving forward. This year, it propelled me to my ex-husband’s house,” she added.
Lastly, her reason why she agreed to spend the holiday with her ex-husband was because of gratitude.
“My life is not perfect and I struggle a lot, but there are blessings despite my complaints,” she wrote.
Just a month after spending Thanksgiving with her family, Bialik opened up to her Instagram followers that she suffered yet another heartbreak as she became “newly single” and was “not doing so well” at the time.
Bialik is 47 years old in 2023, and despite her age, the actress decided to go natural as she let her gray hair grow, which many fans loved and adored.
In a Facebook post, the actress flaunted her gray roots while thanking Apple TV for sending her some goodies.
The comment section was filled with love and support as they commended her for her decision to keep her gray hair.
“Love your silver hair!” one wrote.
“I just love seeing your face and I adore the grey in your hair!” another one praised.
“your still beautiful as ever Mayim even with you grey streak in your hair I still Love you and always will sweetie forever and ever,” one commented.
