"Jurassic Park" fans were hit with a wave of nostalgia and a reminder of their own aging when Ariana Richards, who played Lex Murphy in the original 1993 film, recreated her character's iconic green jelly scene. Now at 43 years old, the actress took part in a video for the official "Jurassic World" account to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the movie's release.

In the scene, which has become one of the most memorable moments from the "Jurassic Park" franchise, Lex and her younger brother Tim, played by Joseph Mazzello, find themselves in the resort's kitchen while trying to escape a Velociraptor attack. Thinking they are safe, they indulge in the delicious desserts on display, with Lex specifically seen enjoying some green Jell-O.

However, their moment of respite is short-lived as they realize they are not alone, and the camera zooms in on Lex's trembling spoonful of jelly as the approaching Velociraptor's footsteps are heard.

The recreation of this iconic scene, uploaded on TikTok on June 9, 2023, stirred up a mix of emotions among fans. Since its release, the video has reached over 12.4 million views and over 6,000 reactions.

Richards was 12 years old when she starred in the Steven Spielberg classic. She impressed a lot of critics with her performance and was named the Best Young Actress in a Movie at the Young Artist Award in 1993.

After "Jurassic Park," Richards, who started acting in 1987, went on to star in the sequel, "Jurassic Park: The Lost World" in 1997 and then dabbled in TV shows like "Switched at Birth" and "Boy Meets World."

The actress quit Hollywood in 2013 after she got married to Mark Bolton and moved to Oregon to build a life with her husband and their daughter, Isabella. She pursued her passion to be an artist and runs a gallery in Portland.

In an interview with Amblin in 2020, Richards said that she started painting at a young age and had her grandmother, a professional painter, as her teacher. The Richards women are a descendant of the Italian Renaissance painter Carlo Crivelli

After filming "Jurassic Park," Richards said she painted a portrait of the Jello scene and called it "Raptor Vision." The picture is recognizable to their daughter, who is still too young to watch the movie.

While many praised Richards for bringing back memories and capturing the essence of the original moment in the viral TikTok video, others couldn't help but feel a sense of age catching up with them. In the comments section, fans expressed their sentiments and were reminded of how much time has passed since the release of the beloved film.

"That's the most iconic scene in the Jurassic Park films," one fan said of the Jello scene. "You do not know how old this made me feel."

In addition to Richards' recreation of the Jell-O scene, the 30th anniversary of “Jurassic Park” was marked by multiple Instagram posts from the actress, featuring scenes from the film and interviews with several of her fellow cast members. The anniversary was a time for fans to reflect on the impact the movie had on them and to celebrate the enduring popularity of the "Jurassic Park" franchise.
