Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are American actors who are best known for their work on the sitcom "That 70s Show." The show aired from 1998 to 2006 and had eight seasons and 200 episodes. It centered around the lives of a teenage friend group in the 1970s and addressed social issues during that time. The show performed well and was a commercial success, which helped launch the careers of both Kutcher and Kunis.

Kutcher is also known for his roles in films such as "Dude, Where's My Car?" in 2000, "The Butterfly Effect" in 2004 and for portraying Steve Jobs in the 2013 biographical film "Jobs." Kunis is remembered for starring in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" in 2008 and for providing the voice of Meg Griffin on the comedy animated series "Family Guy" since 1999.

In 2012, Kutcher and Kunis began dating and were engaged in February 2014. The couple then married in July 2015 in Oak Glen, California. When they first began dating, Kutcher was still finalizing his divorce from actress Demi Moore. Moore and Kutcher's divorce was official in 2013. Kunis and Kutcher have two children together, a daughter named Wyatt and a son Dimitri. The family lives in a sustainable farmhouse in Beverly Hills, California, that was designed by the couple and architect Howard Backen. The A-list couple spent five years planning and working to bring their farmhouse to life. Seeing as both of the Hollywood stars came from humble beginnings, the couple has worked hard to make their property gorgeous yet homey.

Before the couple lived in their state-of-the-art home, their relationship started as co-workers before eventually evolving into friends. To say Kunis and Kutcher have shared a special bond since the beginning would be an understatement.

Kunis experienced her first kiss with Kutcher on the set of "That 70s Show." In 2020 Kunis told People, "I was like, 'Oh, he's so cute, it's the Calvin Klein model!'" Kunis said. "Then I was like, 'I have to kiss him?' I was so nervous and uncomfortable. I had the biggest crush on him."

Kutcher later admitted he had no idea he was the actress's first kiss. In a People interview in 2001, the actor said, "I'm the first guy she kissed? Oh my god, I had no idea!" said Kutcher. "I'm so glad I didn't know that, or it would've been too much pressure." He went on to say he was the one who was nervous that day.

"I was so nervous. She acted so cool. She seemed as if she'd done it a thousand times. I was the one with the butterflies in my stomach. I mean, here's this little girl and I have to kiss her. It was nerve-racking," he said. Despite Kunis and Kutcher's romance on the screen in 1998, the two had no real-life romance during their time working together. It would be years after their on-screen romance that the two would reconnect at the Golden Globes awards show.

During an interview on "The Howard Stern Show" in 2016, Kunis said, "I see this guy, and I see his back, and he's really tall. "Then he just turns around, and it was literally like if we were in a movie, the music would start playing, and the violins would go," she shared.

"Long story short, I didn't leave until the next morning," she revealed. "[It was the] first time I ever slept over while I was single," Kunis said. The two went on to "hook up" for a few months, Kunis admitted during a 2018 appearance on the "WTF with Marc Maron" podcast. She admitted she was shaken when Kutcher mentioned seeing another woman.

"He said something, and I was like, 'Oh, my god. I love this man, and I have to walk away because this is not the agreement that we had. And so I'm going to speak up,'" Kunis said.

What Kutcher did next was straight out of a movie. "The next day, he showed up to my house and he was like, 'Move in with me,' and I said, 'OK,'" Kunis added.

The two A-list celebrities have been together since! The couple got engaged in 2014 and then married in 2015. The couple has welcomed two children together. Their first daughter, Wyatt Isabelle Kutcher, was born in 2014. The couple's youngest son, Dimitri Portwood Kutcher, was born in 2016. Kunis, Kutcher, and their two children currently live in Los Angeles, California, in a farmhouse that the couple spent years designing before starting construction.

Buying property on six acres, the couple wanted to make sure that their humble beginnings were reflected in their property. In an interview with Architectural Digest in 2021, Kunis said, "We wanted a home, not an estate." "We wanted the house to look like an old barn, something that had been here for decades, that was then converted into a house. But it also had to feel modern and relevant," Kutcher added.

The couple admitted that building and designing a home is no easy task. "Building a house from the ground up is no small thing. This was either going to make us or break us," Kunis shared. However, after years of brainstorming the home- the couple shared the same ideas. "When we looked at each other's boards, 90 percent of the images we selected were the same, and most of the houses we pinned were designed by Howard," she admitted.

The couple worked with world-famous architect Howard Backen of the AD100 firm Backen & Gillam Architects. The couple said told the firm they wanted both strong design and functional use. "Howard is like a great software designer, someone who approaches design as an accentuation of function," Kutcher said. "A software designer wants to get people where they want to be with the fewest clicks. Howard wants to get you where you want to be with the fewest doors and obstacles," he added.

The designer, Backen, shared that working with the A-list couple was a true pleasure. "Ashton and Mila are two of the smartest, most inquisitive people we've ever worked with," he shared. The architect added, "We talked about everything from beam sizes to the details of the cross bracing to the junctures of the wood planks and concrete. These are not the kinds of conversations we have with every client."

He also shared that the couple was very hands-on with the whole project from start to finish. "They were out there with us, as genuine members of the design team, for every step of this long and complicated process," he shared.

When designing the unique home, Kunis was building it with the future of their family at the forefront of her mind and vision. "Mila was pregnant with their first child when we began this journey. We spent months looking at materials and colors to find the right visual language," interior designer Vicky Charles said. "Our conversations were not just about the land and the architecture but also about the future of their family," she added.

Charles shared that as the house plans evolved, so did the vision for the farmhouse and their property. "Over time, the design moved away from a traditional farmhouse aesthetic to something more contemporary. Wrought-iron chandeliers and big chesterfields were the wrong clothes for this body," Chandler shared.

The one-of-a-kind home is decorated with one-of-a-kind pieces to match the home. The team traveled to India to purchase a beautiful 10-foot chandelier that is one of the centerpieces of the home's living room. Another living space also features oversized velvet furniture, giving the farmhouse a classy yet comfortable feel. With wood from top to bottom of the home, taking a look at the pictures, one can see that the couple's home is truly a farmhouse that meets glamour. Aside from the gorgeousness of the home, the couple was eager to make the home sustainable too.

"Ashton and Mila are concerned about the quality of the soil, the purity of the food they eat, and the water they drink. The ideals of sustainability and regenerative farming aren't just abstract concepts to them," the architect shared.
