Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, an Amerian journalist and member of the Kennedy family, have four children together: Katherine Schwarzenegger, Christina Schwarzenegger, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Christopher Schwarzenegger. Three of their children followed Arnold’s footsteps and pursued careers in the entertainment industry. Katherine is an author. She has written three self-help books and a children's book. Christina is a producer. In 2018, she was an executive producer for Netflix's "Take Your Pills," a documentary focused on college students battling addiction. Patrick is pursuing an acting and modeling career.
Although Arnold balanced his career and home life, he had a secret that would destroy his picture-perfect family. The former bodybuilder had an affair with their housekeeper Mildred "Patty" Baena and fathered a child named Joseph Baena. Shriver's confronted the Terminator star about the allegations in a marriage counseling session. After coming clean, the couple split.
During an interview with Men's Journal, the action hero revealed that despite his regrets, he is devoted to keeping a healthy relationship with all his children.
"I can beat myself up as much as I want. It's not gonna change the situation," he told the magazine. "So the key thing is, how do you move forward? How do you have a great relationship with your kids?"
Arnold maintains an active role in all of his children's lives. In May 2020, just a couple of months after his eldest daughter Katherine announced that she was expecting her first child with husband Chris Pratt, Arnold appeared on "Tonight on Jimmy Fallon," as reported by USA Today, and gushed about the arrival of his future grandchild.
"I was just thinking about the gene pool. I mean, think about this for a second," he said. "It is part Kennedy and part Schwarzenegger and Pratt. I mean, we can do anything."
