Angelina Jolie’s Tattoos On Her Middle Fingers Leave Fans Suggesting They’re Linked To Her Ex Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie, 48, is known for being an actress and filmmaker. One of Hollywood’s highest-paid actresses, she is just as well known for her incredible beauty as her acting. She’s had an esteemed career in which she’s won multiple awards, including an Oscar, and for over the past decade, she has even directed movies.

As one of Hollywood’s elite, Jolie is no stranger to the spotlight, but her personal life has caused just as much of a stir as her professional work. Her relationships over the years have been a highly talked about topic in the media. From her most recent marriage and longtime relationship with fellow A-lister Brad Pitt to her previous marriages, Jolie’s private life has been just as reported on in the press as her films and her devotion to her children. 

In fact, the Oscar winner’s love and devotion to her children played a pivotal role in her widely talked about breakup with Pitt. After two years of marriage and 12 years together, “Brangelina,” as they were known, ended their relationship in 2016.

According to Vanity Fair, Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt that year because of an alleged domestic violence incident. Following that, an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department of Child and Family Services was opened but closed the same year, only a few months after Jolie filed for divorce. 

However, the ugly divorce proceedings are still on the minds of many, such as when Jolie got new tattoos, and her tattoo artist posted blurred photos on Aug. 22, 2023, and asked people to guess what they were. Many speculated that they could be a diss at Pitt.

Jolie is known for her diverse and changing looks over the years. She cultivated her most recent look, her naturally brown hair worn long in loose waves, minimal makeup, and classically elegant clothes that highlighted her lithe figure while she was with Pitt.

Meanwhile, the actress had a whole other look before getting together with Pitt. This was when she was married to Billy Bob Thornton, her second husband. The couple was notorious for their public displays of love and off-kilter interests. During this period, Jolie’s style was very rock ’n’ roll — a complete contrast to the glamorous looks she’s known for these days. 

She used to rock leather pants and had an overall gothic vibe with her jet-black hair and pale skin. She and Thornton even famously wore vials of each other’s blood around their neck as symbols of their love. 

Jolie had a similar style while she was married to her first husband, British actor Johnny Lee Miller. Their intense devotion to each other also underscored their relationship. For their wedding, Jolie wore black rubber pants and a white T-shirt with Miller’s name written on it in her blood.

Meanwhile, one style that has remained unchanging with Jolie through the years is her love for tattoos. Jolie has over 19 tattoos she started acquiring when she was much younger. Her tattoos include six geographical coordinates on her left bicep, corresponding to where her children were born. 

She also has a “Know your rights” quote on the base of her neck and a Tennessee Williams quote on one arm. The actress explained her fascination with getting inked while promoting the 1999 film “Gia” on "Late Night With Conan O’Brien," where she said that getting tattoos was a form of meditation.

Jolie once again trended for her tattoos after her tattoo artist, Mr. K, who works at the New York studio Bang Bang, posted photos of the actress’ open palms on Aug. 22, 2023, but blurred her longest fingers to cover her new ink.

The award-winning actress had visited the studio to get tattoos on the inside of her middle fingers, and an enthusiastic Mr. K was excited to announce her visit.

“@angelinajolie Still can’t believe that I actually grabbed her hand and tattooed her 🫠🖤👸🏼🖤🫠 Guess what she got on her palm?” the artist asked innocently in his caption. 

However, the speculations soon turned wild when fans started suggesting that the tattoos were about her ex-husband, Pitt, even after the New York-based artist clarified that it had nothing to do with the actor. 

Meanwhile, many suggested that the tattoo could be tied to a religion, citing Hinduism among others, while some thought that the blur effect on her fingers was actually the tattoo and commended the artist for a great job. Mr. K had to explain that it was photoshopped. 

“Guys it’s photoshopped for cover the tattoo 🤷🏻‍♂️ Let me post actual tattoo photo very soon :),” he posted in the comments.

The Bang Bang studio is actually a celebrity favorite as celebrities like Matt Damon, Michael J. Fox, Selena Gomez and Rihanna have gotten tattoos there.

Two days later, the tattoo artist shared a picture of Jolie’s mystery tattoos and apologized for the ruckus that followed his first post.

“First of all, I feel sorry with all the bad speculations and sincerely apologize to @angelinajolie for the stress that might have caused her. This tattoo represents two daggers in geometric & abstract way / nothing related to religion or cross,” he explained.
