An Amber Alert was issued early on a Sunday morning when officers received a call that the little girl was missing. There has not been a report about why the father took the little girl, but a miracle did happen later in the day.

Maurice Knox tried to get his daughter as far away from her home as possible, getting as far away as Charlotte, NC. About two hours after the alert was issued, officers found the man's car.

However, no one was inside, and the man had managed to steal another car to travel with the little girl.

Many people who know the girl and her family were afraid for her life. There have been issues in the past with the girl's father and mother, resulting in a restraining order being issued against the father.

Maurice led officers on a short chase through Charlotte before crashing his car. Officers were able to get the little girl unharmed from the vehicle before arresting Maurice.
