Alyssa Milano has many talents. The actress who became popular after she starred in “Who’s The Boss?” and “Charmed” has evolved into a producer, book author, advocate, podcaster, and activist. Her podcast, “Sorry Not Sorry,” often highlights activists’ work to tackle societal issues.

Her blog is also littered with mementos from her life and work. Milano is passionate about women’s rights and fights passionately so that future generations will not have to do so.

A line from her blog reads, “We cannot allow another generation of women and children to grow up knowing their government and those acting in its name see us as less than human.”

Milano also advocates that women support each other. She was pivotal in making “#MeToo” go viral in 2017, as she had also been sexually assaulted during a concert when she was 19. Five years after the “MeToo” movement took off, the activist called for women to stand together at an event.

“We’re in a room together, so many dynamic women, so many powerful women,” she said. “And what does that mean to help women in this business, to help us grow together, to be stronger together? I think it means greenlighting each other’s projects. It means mentoring each other. And it also means hiring one another and just being there for one another,” Milano urged.

Combining her work with being a mother has only been possible because Milano has a supportive husband. In her book, “Sorry Not Sorry,” she dished how helpful her spouse, David Bugliari, has been. The couple celebrated their 14th anniversary on Aug. 15, 2023, and Milano shared a rare photo of herself and Bugliari with a caption that defined her love for him. Milano’s greatest joy comes from being a mother. The “Charmed” actress shared that she always wanted children and adopted many pets to fulfill that need. However, when she got pregnant twice in 1993, despite being on birth control methods, she knew she wasn’t ready and chose to terminate them.

“It was devastating,” she said on her podcast. “I was raised Catholic and was suddenly put in conflict with my faith. A faith I was coming to realize empowered only men to make every single decision about what was allowed and what was not allowed.”

Milano’s decision would haunt her in later years. She tied the knot with Bugliari, a manager, in 2009, and they began trying for a child immediately because she was older and in her late 30s. Although she got pregnant quickly, she lost the baby and was shattered. Amid her pain, the “Mistresses” actress thought that God was punishing her for the abortions she had when she was in her 20s.

“I definitely had this moment of, ‘Well, I’m being punished,’ basically for abortions in my 20s,” she said in an episode of the Me Becoming Mom podcast. “It took a while in therapy to realize that that was something that I was putting on myself.”

Thankfully, Bugliari proved to be a great partner. After the doctor told them the bad news, his next move surprised Milano. Although they both cried, she wrote in her book:

“He grabbed my face, looked into my eyes, and said, ‘It’s okay. We’re going to have another baby. A better baby. That baby was a Red Sox fan.’ And in that moment of some of the most desperate pain I have ever felt, I laughed.”

They welcomed their first child, Milo, in 2011 and had their daughter, Elizabella, in September 2014.

Milano enjoyed getting pregnant and birthing her children despite getting flashbacks of the time she was assaulted while delivering Milo.

“I remembered at one point really not enjoying the fact that lots of people had access to my vagina,” she said on the podcast. Consequently, the 50-year-old TV personality delivered her babies via cesarean section.

Milano’s love for her kids is evident in her belief in “raising kids that are socially aware and conscious.” She told Us Weekly, “My daughter is very empathetic and caring. My son is very strong and organized.” Her kids’ pictures also make up a bulk of her Instagram.

Meanwhile, Milano and Bugliari find time for each other amid their busy lives. After telling Us Weekly in 2019 that marriage requires work, she wrote in her memoir

“Love, in many ways, is a constant state of apology. It means recognizing the things that you fail at, knowing that the person you love sees them too, and trying so hard to be better at them.”

The couple who has hacked the key to longevity and love in their marriage clocked 14 years on Aug. 15, 2023. To celebrate the occasion, Milano shared a rare picture of her and Bugliari on their wedding day on Instagram. The picture was one of the manager’s rare appearances on Instagram, as his page is private, and he likes to stay low-key.

“Fourteen years ago I married the love of my life. David, you are my everything,” Milano gushed in her caption. “And I’m still in so in love with you. You take my breath away when you walk in a room. Happy Anniversary, my love.”

The lovebirds tied the knot 14 years ago in the Bugliari family home, surrounded by relatives and friends.
