TV fans might also have remembered spotting Wright as Central Perk’s owner in “Friends” before James Michael Taylor took over the role.

His other television break was in “ALF” as the dad who always had to keep the Alien Life Form in check after he crash-landed in the family’s backyard. ALF was constantly getting into mischief and as a responsible dad, Willie had to get him out of trouble.

The BBC reports that Wright was diagnosed with Lymphoma in 1995 and succumbed to the disease in his home in Hermosa Beach, California. He is survived by his two children, Ben and Daisy, and his wife Linda Ybarrondo had passed away in 2017.
