Al Pacino Says He Feels 'Very Good'" About His First Oscar Nomination In 27 Years

The last time Al Pacino was nominated for an Oscar was back in 1993 for his roles in "Scent of a Woman" and "Glengarry Glen Ross," he took home the best actor award for "Scent of a Woman."

However, almost 30 years later, Pacino is seeing another Oscar nomination and he says he is feeling good about it.

Pacino spoke to People about what it was like to get another Oscar nomination 27 years later. The 79-year-old was nominated for his role in the 2019 film, "The Irishman" which was directed and produced by Martin Scorsese.

“The idea of it being the first [nomination] in a long time, well, that’s cool,” Pacino said. “But I guess, just getting an Oscar nomination, it’s just, how about it just makes you feel good? It really does.”

Pacino continued on what it was like to re-experience the rush of being told you've been nominated for an Oscar. “I’ve experienced it. There was a lot of talk about [a possible nomination], and I thought, ‘Well, I don’t know.’ And then when they told me I was nominated for it, it did give me a rush, and it did make me feel very good.”

The movie also stars Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci. Pesci was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor and will be competing against Pacino for the award. "The Irishman" which was released on Netflix has been watched over 26 million times according to the streamer. "THE IRISHMAN was watched by 26,404,081 accounts globally — within its first 7 days on Netflix," they said.
