Police officers are known for saving people and making sure criminals are punished in order to keep the community safe. One officer rescued a puppy that many thought wouldn't be adopted. Soon after, he discovers something surprising in a wooded area.
Officer Matthew Zarrella has a heart for animals. A shelter reported that there was a dog that would soon be euthanized. Matthew knew that he had to do something to help save the dog so that he would have a chance at life.
When Matthew went to the shelter, he saw a lovable dog that was full of energy. It was jumping up and down as if it knew that someone had come to save him.
As Matthew started looking at the dog, he saw that there was something a little different about him.

Patricia Inman was a worker at the shelter when she heard that the puppy was on the list of animals to be euthanized. She decided to train the dog so that she would be one that was desired by people coming into the shelter to adopt. Patricia started to see that the dog was listening and was understanding the commands that were given.
However, it didn't seem like her efforts were enough because the dog only had a few hours before being put to sleep.
Matthew was contacted about the dog and was asked if he could take her or if he knew anyone who could. After seeing the dog in the shelter, Matthew reached out to another officer to talk about what could be done.
Daniel O'Neal, the officer Matthew contacted, soon had a new K-9 partner because of the love that Matthew showed to keep the dog off the list of those to be euthanized.
Discover how the dog helped Daniel a few years later while they were in the woods searching for a teenager who was missing.
