Game Of Thrones actor Sean Bean is turning down roles in which his character dies.
The 60-year-old has had 23 acting roles in his 35-year-long career in which his character succumbs to a tragic death.
Characters who have died portrayed by the actor include Ned Stark from Game Of Thrones, who is beheaded by King Joffrey and Boromir from the Lord of the Rings, who is attacked by arrows and falls to his death into the GoldenEye.
“I’ve turned down stuff. I’ve said, ‘They know my character’s going to die because I’m in it!’,” the actor said, as per the Daily Mail.
“I just had to cut that out and start surviving, otherwise it was all a bit predictable,” he added.

“I’ve played a lot of baddies, they were great but they weren’t very fulfilling — and I always died.”
The actor explained playing those characters did not bother him until he landed his Game Of Thrones role.

And I was like, ‘Yeah, yeah, fair enough’,” he said. “So they made it very clear at the time I was going to die, and I thought, ‘I don’t want to get stuck in one of these series that lasts seven years’.”
Bean would later come to regret that however, as the show went on to become an international phenomenon.
His fans have since started a social media campaign dubbed “Don’t kill Sean Benn” in 2014. The actor has since been offered a role in BBC’s “World On Fire,” where his character survives.
