Adorable Baby Girl Becomes Fan Favorite After She Appears Live On-Air With Her Meteorologist Mom
Feb 05, 2022 by apost team
Whether it be excellent time management or high-level multitasking, working moms are constantly finding new ways to impress us. A meteorologist by the name of Rebecca Schuld, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has recently returned to work after her maternity leave. She is still working from home, however, which means she gets plenty of time with her daughter Fiona.
One day in late January 2022, Fiona had just woken up from her nap when it was time for Rebecca to deliver the weather on air, which she does from her basement where she has a greenscreen setup. At the last minute, Rebecca decided to keep on holding her daughter while reporting the weather on live television. This proved helpful because the adorable baby girl raised everyone’s spirits as her mom reported there would be subzero temperatures on the forecast.
The new mom said she was confident Fiona would behave on screen because she had gotten plenty of rest right before they went on air. Rebecca is grateful to still be working from home so she can spend more time with her daughter. She hopes that she is setting a good example for other working parents that are managing the best they can with so much responsibility.
At first, Rebecca said she felt guilty for splitting her attention between her baby and work but later realized that she was doing great at both jobs so she should celebrate that instead. The mom is questioning if she will ever return to a traditional office setting because technology is able to do so much from home, and she doesn’t want to give up any time with Fiona. Read on to learn more about Rebecca’s story.

CBS News viewers in Milwaukee got quite the treat when adorable Fiona made her television debut. "She's prepared. She's got one of her good thick blankies here for that cold weather that's coming up tonight," Schuld said while reporting the weather. "I thought she could help me with tonight's first weather that's going to be plenty unpleasant, right?"
Rebecca wasn’t expecting to bring Fiona along for the forecast, but she made the best of the situation. She shared, “I was just minutes away from having my next weather broadcast, and my baby had just woken up. I go over to my greenwall. I’m holding her and our producer is like, ‘Oh, your baby, is she gonna make an appearance?' I was very confident she was going to behave because she had just taken a long nap so I knew she'd be happy. I said, 'sure!'”
Multitasking while at work brought up some mixed feelings for the new mom. “When I sat and thought about it, it's like, why am I guilty? This is real life. This is what everyone else is also doing. They work, their kids are sick, or their kids are crying in the background. It's always a challenge when you have kids in the mix, but that's what so many of us are doing every day. So why are we hiding them," Rebecca said.
The meteorologist also mentioned: “Some countries have maternity leave for a couple of years, so you're really able to bond with the baby and help raise them instead of, you know, putting them into daycare and then missing milestones. She is cooing and all these things that now I have been able to see because I'm here with her. That's the best part.”
