Adam Sandler is known for being a pretty funny guy and has starred in many comedies to prove just how hilarious he truly is. From a young age, Sandler showed an interest in comedy. He began performing stand-up comedy in his teens and attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. While at NYU, he honed his craft and performed regularly at comedy clubs.

The actor has made a successful career for himself, finding his footing as a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” from 1990 until 1995 before going on to star in a plethora of box office hits. Some of his most notable movies include “Billy Madison,” “Happy Gilmore,” “The Wedding Singer” and “50 First Dates.”

In addition to his acting career, Sandler has also produced and written numerous films. He co-founded his production company, Happy Madison Productions, in 1999 and has since produced a variety of films, including “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo,” “The Animal,” and “The House Bunny.

Many fans had praised Sandley throughout his career as he was able to deliver comedic lines in a unique way, and many would consider him one of the most legendary comedians in the film industry.

In August 2023, the actor took his time and shared a heartwarming tribute to his “Happy Gilmore” co-star, Bob Barker, who unfortunately passed away at the age of 99 on Aug. 26, 2023, due to natural causes.

Bob Barker was a retired television game show host most known for his job hosting “The Price Is Right.” Barker took on the position in 1972 when the program first debuted and remained the host until his retirement in 2007.

Although Bob Barker mainly worked in the field of television as a presenter, he also got the opportunity to star in the movie “Happy Gilmore” along with Adam Sandler in 1996. He played himself in the movie.

In one scene, Sandler’s role, Happy Gilmore, was paired with Barker in a celebrity golf tournament. Although they were supposed to be a pair, things didn’t end well for the two as they got into a physical altercation.

It started when the duo placed last in the competition, then Barker started teasing his partner and told him that he should work at a snack bar instead of being a “professional golfer.”

Sandler’s role had enough of him, and threw a punch at the famed TV host.

It was comedy gold for most viewers as they did not expect Barker to hit back in the movie, and he showcased his fighting skills by throwing several punches at Sandler.

In the end, Barker ultimately won their fight and walked away as if nothing had happened.

After the TV presenter’s death, Sandler took to his official X account (formerly known as Twitter) to pay tribute to his co-star.

The comedian shared four photos: the first one features Barker in the hospital while Sandler sits beside him, and it appears to be a scene from a comedy skit.

The second photo showed a black-and-white photo of a young Barker on the show “The Price is Right.”

The last two photos featured them interacting with one another during what appeared to be a random encounter.

In the caption, Adam Sandler praised Bob Barker for his attitude way back when he was still alive.

“The man. The myth. The best. Such a sweet funny guy to hang out with. Loved talking to him. Loved laughing with him. Loved him kicking the crap out of me,” he wrote, referencing the iconic movie scene mentioned above.

“He will be missed by everyone I know! Heartbreaking day. Love to Bob always and his family! Thanks for all you gave us!” he added.

The tribute didn’t stop there as he also shared a photo of them at the MTV Movie Awards in 1996, where both of them won the category of Best Fight. They were the first winners of the said category.

After Sandler shared his heartwarming tribute to the TV legend, fans took to the reply section to look back and express their sadness over Barker’s death.

“I grew up with Bob Barker on the Price is Right. I’ll miss him,” one recalled.

“We all loved him kicking the crap out of you! RIP Bob🕊️,” one posted, which referenced their iconic scene.

“That’s sad news. He was, and will be and icon. He entertained us for many years and brought much needed attention to spaying and neutering pets,” one wrote.

One fan shared a photo of a signed photograph of Bob Barker beating Adam Sandler’s role in the movie. They shared the story of how the photo was signed.

“Bob was a national treasure. A few years ago I sent this to him and he was gracious enough to sign it. I spent many many mornings with Bob faking sick from school,” they wrote.
