A Look At Adele’s Love Life And Relationship Journey With Rich Paul

Through the 2010s, music star Adele’s iconic career soared in leaps and bounds, thanks to her soulful voice that has the ability to pierce millions of hearts and allow people to feel her music. While she continues to prove the music world right about her vocal and lyrical prowess, Adele has had some low moments.

One prominent nadir in her life was amid the novel coronavirus pandemic when she dealt with the devastating feeling of divorce. It did not help matters that the world was in lockdown, and she had to hold on dearly to sanity. Prior to the pandemic, she had been on a six-year hiatus from music. 

However, when the star re-emerged, it was in a whole new light, one that delighted her millions of fans. She made a grand comeback with a new album, “30,” and a love life she absolutely adored. Adele found love with sports agent Rich Paul after the pandemic. After they went public with their romance, the “Easy On Me” crooner and sports executive progressed with their love life. 

Adele was married to broker Simon Konecki in 2018, and the following year, the pair were headed to the divorce court. The Grammy-winning singer and Konecki were together for seven years, during which they had their son, Angelo. 

During an exclusive with Vogue in October 2022, Adele described the divorce: “I was just going through the motions and I wasn’t happy. Neither of us did anything wrong. Neither of us hurt each other or anything like that. It was just: I want my son to see me really love, and be loved. It’s really important to me.”

Adele and Konecki finalized their divorce in 2021. In the same year, rumors of a new romance brewed as she was linked with the sports agent.  

Paul and the “Set Fire To Rain” singer were seen sitting courtside at the Game 5 of the NBA Finals in Phoenix in July 2021. An insider revealed to Us Weekly that the duo had been dating under the radar for months. The insider described the pair’s personalities in the relationship, noting that Paul was “very shy and keeps a low profile when they go out, whereas Adele is super sociable.”

Back in May 2021, during Paul’s exclusive with The New Yorker, he confirmed that he had been “hanging out” with “a major pop star.” He then proceeded to chip in that he wasn’t dating.

Two months after their Game 5 appearance, Adele and Paul attended basketball star Anthony Davis’ wedding to Marlen P. Paul represents Davis and other big-shot athletes like Ben Simmons and LeBron James. Adele also made their love Instagram official when she posted photos of them dressed up to grace the occasion. 

During her interview with Vogue, the “Send My Love” crooner gushed over Paul, noting that there were years before their relationship kicked off. She described him as someone who “was always there, I just didn’t see him.” She added that she felt “safe” and never “anxious, nervous or frazzled” with Paul. 

Later, in November 2021, Adele sat for an interview with Rolling Stone, where she detailed how she met Paul. The music star relayed that the pair first became acquainted at a mutual friend’s birthday. She also mentioned reconnecting with the businessman a week after her father, Mark Evans, passed away.  

After going public with their romance, Adele and Paul’s relationship blossomed with occasional public sneak peeks. They have been quite supportive of each other, with the singer celebrating Paul’s collaboration with New Balance on social media.

Paul was also by her side in February 2022 when her Las Vegas residency was postponed. After one year of regaling fans with sweet couple moments, Adele shared a slew of photos celebrating their love on Instagram. She captioned the post, “Time flies.” 

With the couple's love life strengthening, they have opened up about the possibility of having more kids. While Adele has a son from her former marriage, Paul is a dad of three from previous relationships. 

Speaking with E! on June 10, 2022, Paul made it known that he was looking forward to becoming a father again, albeit a “different dad.” The sports entrepreneur stated this in parlance with his life as a former young father. He shared:

“As a young dad, growing a business, it was pretty tough. But now looking as an older dad, if I was to have more kids, I'm looking forward to being a different dad."  

Adele would later echo a similar sentiment about wanting kids while speaking to Oprah Winfrey in a sit-down interview. During the chat, she fawned over Paul, noting his personality and what she loved. She relayed:

“He's just hilarious. Oh, he's so funny, he's hilarious, yeah. And very smart. You know, he's very, very smart. It's quite incredible watching him do what he does."

The star also confirmed that she was looking forward to having more children. She mentioned: “I would like more children. It wouldn't be the end of the world if I didn't because I have Angelo, but yeah, I think so."

Being with Paul meant Adele experienced self-love for the first time and has “been open to loving and being loved by someone else.” Despite divorce, the singer said that it was all love with her ex-husband as she noted that he “saved” her life.
