A Dog Practiced Yoga In Italian With His Owner And Perfectly Followed Along

Have you ever noticed that some of the English names for specific yoga poses correspond to animals? There's the cat pose, cow pose, and even lizard pose, but perhaps the most famous is the downward-facing dog. This is a classic within yoga and one that is repeated often. In a rather hilarious turn of events an Italian man by the name of Niccolo Bello was practicing yoga in his living room, when his chihuahua Panchino decided to join in and follow along. The resulting video of their yoga session is both adorable and hilarious.

The video begins with both Niccolo and Panchino already in the downward-facing dog position and it's immediately funny. What's makes it even funnier is that Pancho's posture is perfect –– he's a yoga natural, or at least in the dog pose!

Niccolo, an actor and filmmaker from Italy, is speaking in Italian and guiding the session, as if he were Pancho's yoga teacher. When translated, he begins by saying: "Exactly, stay like that and try to stretch your back and paws as much as you can" –– a hilarious thought considering they're in dog pose, which Panchino would already know too well.

As they continue the session, Pancho follows Niccolo's poses and guidance perfectly, coming down on all four legs, and slowly stretching his head from side to side. He doesn't miss a movement, mirroring Niccolo exactly. Niccolo is a great teacher, not only guiding the session but explaining what the stretch can do for the body.

Alongside Niccolo's soothing guidance, there is a calming music playing in the background. It makes the video even more enjoyable and relaxing to watch, but no doubt it's helping the two keep in the right frame of mind. Pancho's focus is amazing to see, as well as his sense of calm as he practices with Niccolo. Yoga is meant to be calm-inducing so perhaps it's evidence that it's working. They continue on a few more head stretches, before finally coming to cobra pose, which both Niccolo and Pancho reproduce perfectly.

Niccolo then stops his soothing teacher voice and announces the end of the session, before congratulating his dog, saying "Bravo Panchino" and breaking into a laugh. It's clear to see the bond that they share and even sweeter that they can enjoy activities together such as yoga.

Although the short video might not show off a full 30-minute session of yoga, it's incredibly impressive that Pancho could not only follow the poses but that he kept his focus and obviously listened carefully to his owner. He did a better job than most other animals probably could, and perhaps even some humans!

The adorable video was posted to Twitter by one user, helping to make it go viral, as it has now received more than 6 million views on YouTube, suggesting that people really do want to see animals doing yoga, especially when they're as cute as Panchino (or when the teachers are as handsome as Niccolo!).
