We've all heard of motherly love, but one mother took it to the next level. When Breanna Lockwood couldn't get pregnant, her mother, Julie Loving, stepped in. Loving is acting as the surrogate for her daughter. Thanks to science, this 51-year-old mama is back at it again and is expecting a baby this year.

Lockwood and her husband tried to get pregnant for years. The natural way just wasn't working. After enduring multiple IVF treatments which all ended in miscarriages, she was about to give up. According to Good Morning America, the 29-year-old looked into surrogacy but didn't have any viable options. She also couldn't afford to go through a private agency. Pregnancy didn't seem to be on her cards. That's when her mom stepped in.

Loving has been a runner her entire life, GMA reports. She's also a mom of two herself. When she saw her daughter was struggling with the pain of infertility, she had to do something. After discussing it at length with her husband, Loving approached her daughter. She knew that carrying her daughter's daughter would be unorthodox. But she couldn't just stand by and watch her daughter suffer.

Lockwood wasn't sure. Her mother is 51, which is not considered a standard childbearing age. She knew her mother's intentions were good. But could someone in their fifties give birth?

The fertility doctors weren't on board right away. They don't disqualify a surrogate purely based on age, but the threshold is typically much younger than the early fifties. Loving wasn't bothered by this reservation in the slightest. She was healthy and had successfully birthed two of her own children. Loving was cleared to carry her daughter's baby. Lockwood couldn't be happier. Her mother is due to give birth to her baby in November, reports GMA.

Breanna Lockwood never anticipated she and her husband would struggle with infertility. Julie Loving never in a million years thought she'd be the surrogate for her own grandchild. But in the end, that's exactly what is happening.

If there is one thing to be taken away from this story, it is that there is always a silver lining. To brighten someone's day, show them this story. You never know who it might inspire. And let us know what you think about this mother's unorthodox decision. Would you do the same?
