2. Poor digestion
When you are working for long periods of time, it can severely affect your digestive system. Your digestive system can even go into a state of shock.
Irritable bowel syndrome, or IBS, is common in people that have excess amounts of stress. Irritable bowel syndrome can cause loose stools and painful aches in multiple areas of the stomach.
3. Frequent colds
When you get stressed, your heart rate increases which can increase blood circulation. Your blood pressure also increases. This leads to problems with your immune system and getting sick more often.
4. Frequent changes in body weight
Getting too stressed out causes you to gain and lose weight rapidly. Stress causes increased production of the cortisol hormone. This hormone makes you want to eat anything and everything. This causes rapid weight gains and losses.
5. Stomach pains
As mentioned before, your digestive system can be harmed when you have too much stress. Your stomach can begin to hurt and you may even get nauseous. This is a sign you need to get more rest.
6. Tiredness
If you find yourself struggling to get out of bed, struggling to stay awake and feel exhaustion often, you may need to rest or reduce your workload.
7. Pains in your chest
When you have chest pains due to stress, they often have nothing to do with your heart. This can be a form of a panic attack due to increased stress. If chest pains happen often, try relaxing and taking deep breaths. If it persists, consult with a doctor just in case to check for heart problems.
8. Significant decrease in sexual activity
When you get too stressed, the brain doesn’t create enough chemicals that are responsible for a healthy sexual drive. If you or even your partner have this problem, try getting more rest and relaxing.
