40-Ton Whale Filmed Leaping Out Of The Sea, And Now The Incredible Video Is Going Viral

Humpback whales are known for their impressive size. These enormous beasts can weigh as much as 36,000 kilograms. To put that size into perspective, you would need to pile 24 adult hippos on the scale to equal that much weight.

They might be gigantic, but these whales can certainly move their weight around. A recent video from South Africa showed an amazing feat of strength and beauty. This remarkable mammal leaped into the air and performed a remarkable display.

Luckily, this amazing feat was caught on tape. Craig Capehart is a scuba diver who was just sitting in an inflatable boat off of the coast of Mbotyi. He was enjoying the warm weather in the Indian Ocean when something unusual caught his eye.

Thankfully for viewers everywhere, Craig thought fast and grabbed his camera. The graceful whale shot out of the water and into the air. Craig later said that the whale must have weighed at least 40 tons. Despite the mammal's massive weight, it was able to gracefully leap into the air.

Few people have ever seen a humpback whale leap into the air. While dolphins and sharks do this all of the time, humpback whales rarely fly out of the water. This rare event can now be shared and watched by viewers around the world because of Craig's quick thinking.
