3 Abandoned Puppies Left To Starve In Road Rescued After Being Miraculously Found

When Chris and Meaghan Billemeyer spent an afternoon looking for a piece of property to buy in Okeechobee, Florida, they found much more than a piece of land. The couple has a passion for animals of all kinds, and they have three pit bulls as well as Maine Coon cats in their home. While they were driving around, they saw an odd object in the middle of the road that held a surprise that they enjoyed.

As Chris and Meaghan slowed their vehicle down, they noticed a large bucket sitting in the road. When the couple saw the bucket, they thought it could have been an animal at first. Upon further inspection, the bucket did contain animals. There were three puppies inside the bucket.

Whether you're an animal lover or not, you know that animals of all kinds need food and deserve some kind of attention, especially when they are babies. These three puppies were starving and had been left alone in the heat of the day. They were also covered in fecal material because they didn't have a way to get out of the bucket to use the bathroom.

Knowing that they had some food left from their meal, they gave the puppies what they had until they could get to a store to get dog food for them. They also gave the puppies some water. After getting the dogs settled, they took them to a vet so that they could get examined.

When the vet was able to examine the puppies, there were a few horrifying things that were discovered. The high number of fleas on the puppies had made them anemic because the fleas were living off of the blood of the animals. The dogs had not been eating well for at least a week. They also had a severe case of worms. Aside from the humiliation of the puppies being in a bucket in the first place, they were in a bucket that was very dirty on the inside, which resulted in the puppies getting dirty as well.

The vet estimated that the puppies were 14 weeks old when they were found. They should have been larger than they were and should have been running around and getting the nutrients that growing puppies need to thrive.

Meaghan has started a GoFundMe account to try to get financial help for the puppies. She also wants to know where the mother of the puppies is to try to reunite them.
