A 13-year-old girl who suffers from anxiety was recently denied a ride on a bus because she was 10p (about 15-20 cents) short on her fare. Her father is angry because he reports that the driver kept her money after she left the bus. The teen was unable to get to school when her class was about to start. The young girl was so distressed about the incident on the bus that she vomited in the street after being kicked off the vehicle.

Gary Jones, the girl's father, is very angry with the driver who has his route in Liverpool, England reports The Mirror. The father has gone to the media to report the incident, and he is demanding an apology from the bus driver.

He described the incident as the girl entering the bus and the driver saying she had to exit the bus because she was 10p short on her fare. After she was forced to exit at Southport Road, the driver still had the money she had paid for the bus ride. Gary has taken his daughter to the doctor to treat her anxiety, and this condition caused her to vomit in the street after being delayed from getting to her class on time.

Mr. Jones called the bus company the day of the incident to make a complaint. The customer service department told him that it would take 10 days to look into the matter and give him a response.

The bus company called Gary back and offered him a three-month bus pass and gave him an apology. The representatives said that the driver would receive some disciplinary action, but they didn't specify the nature of his penalties. Gary asked them to submit a written explanation of the bus driver's actions and an apology from him. The representative did not agree to this demand.

The managing director of the bus company acknowledged to the press that he is aware of the incident and that the driver will be reviewed according to company policy for the misbehavior. He also gave his apology to the girl's family.

Do you think a student should be kicked off of a bus for being 10p short on the fare if it will mean she can't make it to her class? Let us know in the comments, and send a link to friends so that they can get involved in the discussion.
