10 Reasons Why Fathers Are The Absolute Best

Jun 13, 2018 by apost team

Mothers are our rocks. Always there to support us emotionally and pick us up when we fall. But many times we neglect to give credit to the men that raised us, our dads. The father that has been caring and encouraging through our entire lifetime and each of our choices. Chances are that when we’ve made a mistake, we seek guidance from our fathers and expect them to help fix it.

These 10 reasons showcase just how great your father really is.

1. He Disciplines You

Your father was the one who taught you that discipline is important: waking up on time, earning all A’s in school or learning an instrument. Dads make sure they’re there to encourage you through all of these positive decisions.

2. He Keeps You Grounded

As much as he might spoil you, he knows how to keep you balanced by keeping you grounded. He teaches you the qualities of humility and modesty.

3. Teaches You About Finances

A father can be the perfect economic advisor. They teach you what things are important to spend money on and also methods for saving. Without this guidance, you’d be broke.

4. He Protects You

As a child, you may not have understood when your father made you come home at a set curfew time. But as you age, your appreciation for this grows when you understand it was for your own protection.

5. He Teaches You To Deal With Stress

Your dad likely had a high-stress level. From being a parent, taking care of finances and household responsibilities, he sacrifices a lot for his family without ever showing a signal of stress. You learned that from your dad.

6. He Teaches You The Value Of A Dollar

Your allowance was likely limited to a child. He did this so you learned the value of a dollar in adolescence. He taught you how to spend money without throwing it all away.

7. He Taught You Respect

Respect is not inherently given, it has to be earned, as taught to you by your father. Your dad taught you that actions are what earn respect, not force or coercion. He engrained how to earn respect into your mind from childhood.

8. He Let You Make Your Own Mistakes

Your dad probably told you that it’s okay to make a mistake, but doing it twice makes it a choice. Your dad gave you the freedom to make mistakes, and that’s where you were taught not to repeat them.

9. He Knows How To Treat You

Although we all go through the process of growing up, we’ll always be our father’s children. Your dad knows the appropriate time to begin treating you like an adult and is still aware of those times you need to be coddled like a child.

10. He Teaches You To Plan For The Future

At some level, your future is always planned by your parents and your upbringing. Your father teaches you how to make realistic goals and sets us down a path of working hard to meet these goals. Since they went through the same process in their younger years, they know how to help you along the way.

Next time you get a chance to speak to your father, make sure to thank him for how he helped you grow into the person you are today. Fathers have sacrificed more for us than we imagine and never ask for favors in return. What has your dad done to positively impact your life?
